There’s a bit of concern when he walks in on Iggy basically like…up in Edward’s face, a piece of paper shoved under his nose. He’s a little more concerned when Iggy snarls out, “This is Blackbeard! Not some namby pamby in a silk dressing gown pining for his—”
“Heyyyyyy,” Lucius says awkwardly. Two sets of eyes turn to him, one furious, the other…scared? Is Edward scared of fucking Iggy? Lucius clears his throat, looking between the two of them. Iggy’s got one hand clenched in Edward’s robe near his throat and Edward looks…frozen. “So…this is a weird vibe.”

Frenchie pulls his hands away as if burned and he jumps back, his eyes wide. “Roach…”
“What?” Roach brings his hand to his head, trying to find the spot. The itching is decreasing, at least. He gasps when he feels something furry and when he tugs on it, he winces in pain. “What is it?”
Frenchie edges back even more, grimacing as he looks away. “Bad news.” His shoulders hunch and his nervous eyes dart over to Roach. “I think you’ve got cat ears.”
Roach still isn’t sure whether to believe the story about Buttons turning himself into a seagull. What better way to test it than by transforming himself?

His hands gripped the counter top so hard his knuckles went pale and his mouth went dry as paper.
"Mate, are you alright?" Wee John asked him, having already brushed past him and sitting down at the table.
Frenchie wanted to respond, perhaps say "yeah, im fine." or "never better", but his mouth didn't move, and even if he did he didn't think he could form a coherent noise right now.
His eyes were trained on a fluffy white loaf sitting on a chair next to Lucius, basking in a ray of sun, asleep and content. Lucius stared at him, weird.
"Why are you staring at my cat like that?"

Silence falls for a long moment. Frenchie breathes, and tries not to think about how dark everything has become.
Cloth shuffles, then a hand finds his. Frenchie opens his eyes, staring up at Jim, who’s now crouched in front of him. They give him a half smile and stand up, tugging on his hand.
“C’mon.”
Frenchie and Jim, finding light together in the darkness.
