Summary
Rumi watched as the figure, adorned in his black hanbok and gat, descended from above like an angel of death. Jinu. There was no mistaking it. It was actually him. It was clear he was in his demon form. She could see the glow of his golden eyes, looking right at her.
“Pray for me now…” The chanting increased. Loud and deep.
This wasn’t right.
Something was wrong.
Abruptly, like a puppet who had its strings cut, Jinu fell to the ground, landing harshly on the stage with a resounding thud.
The crowd screamed.

Summary
Jason remembered very little about his time in the league, he occasionally got small glimpses of his time in the league but not much.
But there was something at the back of his mind, like he forgot something.
And then there was the brat. The brat who woke up this protective feeling in him, one that was different from the one he felt when it came to his siblings.
But why was his different?
He really needed to know.

Summary
"Your hair's black." Tim's the one to break the silence.
Jason shrugs. "Went on an undercover gig. The black and white skunk 'do isn't exactly subtle."
Later, Tim knows Jason will blame it all on the alcohol—but when he leans in close with a half-lidded gaze, when he reaches up to tug at Jason's bangs where the lock of white should fall into his eyes… he also knows neither of them will be able to lie to himself.
"What the hell are you doing?" Jason says sharply.
"I like the way it usually looks. The white in your hair," Tim replies, voice thick.
Jason's on his feet in an instant, warmth gone, leaving only anger. "You think you can say that shit like you know me? Like you like me?"
"You're right. I don't know you."
And yet you consume me, stays unsaid between them.
Jason doesn't know what he wants but never stops trying; Tim attempts to deal with his baggage (and fails spectacularly at it). It's no simple feat, finding where they stand with the family—so maybe they should figure out where they stand with each other, first.

Summary
If they’d known when they took the contract with the Slayer’s Take that Manticore by no means meant only one of the goddamn things, thought Vax, viciously, then they might have come a little better prepared. Healing potions, a full night’s sleep, all their spells – rather than no potions, a night out drinking, and half Pike’s heavenly light spent on easing all of their hangovers.
(In which Vox Machina is rather overconfident in their manticore-slaying abilities, and Vax pays the price for it.)

Summary
Tim isn’t quite fast enough to dodge the bat that’s heading toward his shoulder. He resigns himself to it, bracing for the impact.
It never comes.
Instead, Jason steps in the way of the bat, taking the blow to his arm.
(Or; 5 times Jason took a hit for Tim and one time he wasn’t there in time)
