Hua Cheng looked up, relief flooding his face at the sight of him. “Gege!” he whined, voice cracking with frustration. “They’re fighting over who gets to be Elsa.”
“Yeah!” E-Ming, their four-year-old, shouted, clutching a sparkly blue dress to her chest like it was sacred. Her head was topped with a tangled, glaringly fake white-blonde wig that made it hard to take anything she said seriously. Stray tufts of her natural black hair peeked out from underneath, and Xia Lian had to bite his cheek to keep from laughing.
“Ryoue says I have to be Anna, but I don’t want to be Anna! I’m Elsa!”
“That’s not fair! She always makes me be Anna!” Ryoue, six, stomped her foot in protest.
“Because you already look like her!”
“I do not look like her just because I have brown hair!”
“Do too!”
