It was pure coincidence that the first Saturday they had decided to try the new-ish pop-up market located about halfway between Crowley's Mayfair flat and Aziraphale's SoHo bookshop had also happened to be a day Crowley was feeling comfortable enough to try stepping out in high femme fashion. More like luck of the devil, in Aziraphale's opinion, for how instantaneously things had gone off the rails and wound up with him as both center stage and somehow still the sideshow of a bizarre, one-sided rivalry that is one part morbid fascination, one part whatever the inverse of jealousy is, and an additional seventeen parts of prolonged, blood-pressure aggravating foreplay.
OR
Sometimes, with the way they both present, people don't always clock Aziraphale and Crowley as a couple. And (horny) woe be unto Aziraphale when Crowley figures out how to take advantage of that for both of their amusements.

He chances a glance up, sees nothing but the taut lines of Aziraphale’s bare neck as the angel keeps his face turned away from him. Not disgust, then – permission. Permission to touch, as long as Aziraphale doesn’t have to bear witness to it.🔶
Crowley notices a little quirk Aziraphale has - sometimes, the angel will keep his eyes closed and refuse to acknowledge what's happening around him.

“Hey, Angel, it’s okay. You didn’t do anything wrong. I’m sorry I pulled back like that, I was just a bit confused since… but it’s okay if it doesn’t happen all the time for you.”
“No, no, that’s not it!” Aziraphale cried out, crossing his hands slightly in front of his body to cover his crotch. “This is perfect, but I’m not… I don’t have…” Aziraphale blushed brightly, avoiding Crowley’s gaze, and suddenly Crowley understood.

They only discovered that kissing had been invented - and tried and tested - fifty and a hundred years later, respectively, and had both initially thought it looked more uncomfortable than anything. Now, though. He’s seen humans in love, disgustingly in love, who it’d take all the combined forces of Heaven and Hell to separate, who have kissed each other as if air from the other is the only thing that would do anymore. It certainly hadn’t seemed uncomfortable for them.

I had no specific plan or goal in mind for this when I began it, aside from a vague idea of how it would begin. The story told itself, and I love Anthony and Avery more than life 💛
