Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are chosen as representatives of the political union by Darth Sidious, meant to bring ruin to the marriage and the public's support of the Jedi,for Obi-Wan Kenobi is not the Beta he claims.

"Whoever told you that, dearest?" Obi-Wan's voice shook, like the rest of his body. "Whoever told you you're anything but an amazing and exceptional Padawan?", Obi-Wan tentatively took another step forwards.
Anakin was only 6 feet away, but he never felt so far away.
"Other Padawans. Knights. Masters." Anakin shrugged, the movement making his body sway forwards and Obi-Wan's heart dropped, cold fear gripping him. "You deserve better, Master, you don't deserve a slave."
Obi-Wan never hated the title coming from Anakin's mouth than at this moment.
(Sixteen years old Padawan Anakin Skywalker is struggling. Tonight, he decides to end it. The Force isn't ready to greet its son back so quickly.)

“Never stopped working because I was sick”
“Oh,” Obi-Wan suddenly felt very stupid. Anakin was a slave not even a year before. It made all the sense in the world that they would’ve made him do what they asked even if he was unwell.

Anakin falls sick around a year after The Phantom Menace, and Obi-Wan struggles to keep up with his Padawan’s messed up ideology.

“Who brushed your hair when you were on Tatooine?” Obi-Wan asked. He continued to section off pieces of Anakin’s hair, taking small pieces and brushing them slowly. There was no judgement in his tone, only curiosity and slight concern.
“My mom,” Anakin answered quietly, swinging his legs back and forth as he sat on the stool. His shoulders lowered a little bit.
“Do you know how to do it yourself?”
“…No”

Anakin hasn’t had a haircut since he left Tatooine, and he doesn’t know how to brush his hair. Obi-Wan can’t just leave his padawan’s hair in this state.
