Summary
During the Barry the Chopper Incident, all Ed had been able to think was "I'm going to die.". Afterwards, healing from his cuts and sitting with Al, he'd realized how important it was to stay with Al, no matter what. The thought of leaving his baby brother behind, trapped in armor, was something that tore at his very being. And being a state alchemist, he needed a backup plan- a failsafe.
What do you do when your body is about to be killed? You use the kill switch and throw your soul into your brother's armor. Easier said than done, but nothing two alchemy prodigies can't handle. It was only supposed to be the backup plan that they'd never need to use if everything went right.
Only everything goes wrong shockingly often in the military, and neither Ed nor Alphonse expected the team to have to fish Ed's apparently dead body out of the river after a case gone wrong.
A story of clandestine tattoos, brotherhood, parental Roy and Mama Hawk, and Roy tearing his hair out realizing these kids are going to be the death of him.

“Fullmetal is down, 451 East Street, I need an ambulance, oh God please no….”
“Is that… is that Edward?” Roy couldn’t keep the disbelief from his voice. How could he? He’d ridden in the ambulance with Edward a handful of times before, but the sight of the body bag was so foreign and ridiculous, it didn’t even register in his mind….
And thus began the nightmarish incident that would take years off team Mustang's life.

Summary
The men pulled, and something came free- with a splash and a clank, something metal fell out of the end of the pipe and landed in the drainage ditch at their feet.
It was about three feet long, and made of metal.
“What the fuck is that?” one of the men on the line asked, voice hushed.
One of them picked it up- it was an arm, an automail arm- not attached to anything, only the rope still firmly tied around the wrist.
Roy felt nausea bubble up in him like regret, and turned to the nearest soldier.
“Get me a damn light- I’m going in after him!”
Something was terribly wrong.
Edward Elric tries to avoid giving his report and do a good deed. Roy Mustang tries to avoid pondering his role in Edward's life. Both fail miserably. And it's all because of the damn rain.
A slow burn of excitement, angst, drama, trauma, hurt/comfort, and found family. Maybe in that order.

Summary
A dozen kids-missing without a trace in East City. Edward Elric- without any leads on the stone. Ed goes on a hunt for a killer, putting himself into a case he wasn't assigned. Things get messy when a special investigations unit from Central is sent in, and despite Mustangs efforts, Edward becomes to this case. Not a victim, but with integral knowledge of the case.
If only the kid's nose would stop bleeding and his hands would stop shaking. Mustang has never seen the kid so frightened before, and it awakens a gutteral fear within him.

Maes Hughes never made it to the phone booth that night. Instead, he was attacked killed by Lust in his office. Roy Mustang was promoted to Central earlier that year, and just so happens to stumble across his recently killed friend. Distraught and not thinking clearly, he runs to call Hawkeye. All Edward can realize is that the corpse is still warm. There's still time. The soul hasn't crossed the gate yet.
He knows what he has to do. "Alphonse. Something's wrong here. I need you to guard this door. Whatever happens- don't open it until Hughes says so, okay?"
"Brother- I don't understand...."
"There's no time, Al! I need you to trust me! Let NO ONE IN. Not even Mustang! Understand?"
"Okay, brother."
"Thanks, Al. I'm grateful to have you by my side." his golden eyes warm in a rare moment of sentiment. "And I won't leave you until we've achieved our goal."
He shuts the office door and stuffs a chair beneath the nob, grabbing and knife and approaching the man's corpse hesitantly. This is going to hurt- a lot. But he's bound Al's soul to a suit of armor- he can do this. He knows the price of calling a soul back from the gate, and he's more than willing to pay.

Eren was covered in blood and chicken feathers, and Levi wondered for a second if the boy had gone insane. "You said to make sure there was chicken for dinner, Sir." Eren said. "I meant to tell the cooking squad." Levi ground out. Eren looked at him sheepishly. "We did it differently in Shingasha."
Levi expected to take care of brats when he was promoted to Corporal. He did not, however, expect to have to deal with cultural differences, or the weird-ass traditions from three brats from a place called Shinganshina.

Eren whimpered, clumsy hands fumbling to pull of Levi’s shirt, and Levi let him. As soon as Levi was shirtless, however, Jager went back to grabbing his ass, making no move to take off Levi’s pants.
Levi scoffed. “What, that’s it?” he held himself above the boy with one hand, undoing his pants with the other and sliding them off, and they were both bare ass naked, the chilly air a shock against their flushed, sweaty flesh.
“W-wait….” Eren panted. “I… I was gonna do a dance… before… to turn you on.”
Levi couldn't help but smile, amused, as he looked down at the boy. “go ahead.” he managed, pleased that Jager had had the forethought to want to please Levi, as well….
