At the exact same time, MJ and Peter say - "But you have to try."
And both of them freeze.
Peter gives her a look out of the corner of his eye, soft and searching. His mouth quirks up into a half-smile.
Which is rude. She's still trying not to think about him. She's been trying not to think about the way he had cradled her face earlier when he saved her from the wreckage in Manhattan; like she was something precious.

“The—the men. They stuck me with something. I think they’re taking me somewhere.”
“Ugh, men,” the woman sighs and turns, her face falling sympathetically. Her eyes are brown and very, very big behind the wire-rimmed glasses slipping down her nose. “I don’t know about that, honey—I’m sorry. I just have a knack for finding strays and good company. We’re in the kitchen right now, but if you stay long enough, maybe we can go on a coffee run. I’m the boss here, so we can do whatever we want.”
“And where’s here?” Sara presses.
The woman smiles. “My favorite apartment. Pancakes?”

Determined to understand Ratio's obsession with sculpting, Aventurine secretly takes up classes. However, the universe had other plans, and he was now met with Ratio as the model for his private class assignment.

Aventurine picks up sculpting, and Ratio somehow ended up being the model for Aventurine's art studio, which he had rented to himself for the whole day.

Or at least that is what he thought until he encountered a curious member of the famed the Astral Express that has opened his eyes too new perspectives on life in the Dreamscape and beyond.

Ratio stares back at him. The typical acuity of his eyes has dulled into something more welcoming. He raises a hand, the pads of his gloved fingers brushing against the gems of Aventurine’s earring. “Peacock feathers do not fade or lose their shiny luster, even after the animal has died.”
“I didn’t think you’d be a maundering drunk,” Aventurine scowls, but doesn’t tilt his head away from Ratio’s hand. The doctor’s words are something that Aventurine is neither drunk nor sober enough to ruminate on.
