Vox had too many secrets to count. Many demons in hell have the same issue. They lie, cheat, and betray each other all of the time. There’s a reason there’s so many fights on the streets of Hell everyday. The only problem is that Vox had one specific secret that would genuinely ruin his entire afterlife. His reputation, the respect he’s built, and his audience would be completely gone. Destroyed. Like he hadn’t spent decades carefully working on it to get to where he is today.
Vox isn’t an alpha like he claims to be. He isn’t even a beta. He’s an omega. A filthy, claimed omega.
It’s his dirtiest secret. Anytime he remembers it, he’s filled with complete and utter shame. Absolutely no one but himself knows it. Well, himself and one other person. The very alpha that claimed him several decades ago.
Or: Alastor makes up for his past mistakes by explaining what he did wrong to Vox. Surprisingly a good communicator!

“Will you remember this when we stop?” Vox asks frantically.
Alastor’s eyebrows furrow, just for a second. “Do you want me to?”
“No!” Vox practically shouts, flailing his hands in front of himself, “Fuck, no, forget this. Don’t remember anything.”
“Okay,” Alastor says simply.
Vox blinks at him. He could… There are things he knows he’ll never hear out of Alastor’s mouth. Simple endearments, reassurances… Things no one has ever said to him.
Things Alastor would never say to him. Not of his own free will. It scares him to recognize what he’d give to hear them.
It’s pathetic, he knows, to use hypnosis to be told that he’s something worth cherishing. To have to use it, because he knows he’ll never hear it otherwise, and he can’t fucking stand it.
To want it all bad enough to do it anyway.

Summary
Vox has hit rock bottom, and Alastor isn't about to miss the chance to kick him while he's down. Besides, Vox always bounces back no matter what happens, which is what makes their little rivalry so entertaining.
Except Vox isn't fighting back. The reaction that Alastor is used to is replaced with this blank, peaceful look that makes Alastor’s skin crawl.
No matter how much Alastor pushes or prods, he can't get a single rise out of him. It’s entirely wrong. It’s not Vox. And worst of all? It’s not fun. Because the game only works if both sides are playing.

When Alastor suggests hypnotizing Vincent, Vincent’s initial reaction is to laugh at how ridiculous the idea is. When he’s talked into the idea, Vincent still thinks it won’t work. His mind is too strong. Magic isn’t real. Hypnotism certainly isn’t a thing. Vincent stares at the pocket watch in front of him with full belief that he’s going to sit here for two minutes and then be done with it. All of the sudden—he’s waking up the next morning with perfect clarity on all of the embarrassing things he was made to do.

Alastor, now keen to spread his newly unclipped wings, gets the devious idea to get Vox back in line where he belongs - as Alastor's subordinate, a useful tool for his future plans. After all, Vox had managed something rather impressive before all that catastrophic failure, and Alastor finds himself strangely compelled to seek his old pal out in the aftermath... only for personal gain, of course.

Vincent realized that he really wanted to see Alastor in a muzzle.
When they would fuck and Alastor would be close to orgasm, he’d lean in as always, about to sink his teeth deep into Vincent’s neck and ride out his pleasure, only to realize that he was unable to do it, because there was a muzzle on his face, preventing him from doing so.
That would for sure make Alastor frustrated and frustrated Alastor… oh God, Vincent had to stop right there or he’d ruin their movie night by being his usual way-too-freaky, perverted self.
