Summary
Grian remembers Doc's late, now undead Came Back Wrong husband Ren[bob]dog, and figures he and Scar should probably like.. rescue him. Scar may or may not have also known, but a lot has happened in the past months and the author doesn't remember.
That's not really important.
Cub is still adjusting to the new dynamic, frusterated by everything that seems to get in the way of the three of them existing in normal lives.
Scar has given up on finding closure, but new tidbits of information about the origin of his prosthetics are making it even harder to aggressively accept life as he knows it. He intends to put these 'lies' to rest in order to avoid confronting what it would mean for him if it was all true.
Grian.. Like, all things considered, she's doing pretty well. In therapy, recovering from toxic codependancy, taking her meds.. All the same problems are still there, but she's better than she's ever been despite it all.

Summary
A young man dies of a wasting illness. A pillager-to-be is killed in his first raid. Then a miracle happens: They come back to life! One of them an outcast and the other burdened by his perpetually failing body, they make a long journey to the mysterious Mansion to bargain for the favor of the vex. The gruesome ritual where they sign away their lives binds Scar and Cub together against their will. Any developing feelings between them can surely be dismissed only as the vex’s influence, but when they are tasked to infiltrate and destroy a group of people who turn out to be immortals just like them, they need to decide which bonds to hold and which to betray.
Or: A Convex backstory set in the time of them joining the short-lived Kingdomcraft server before Hermitcraft s4.

Summary
“Hey, how badly do you need this?” Cub purses his lips at the question. How badly did he really need any of this? He shouldn’t need it that badly, but he feels like he does. Every part of himself gravitates towards the smoke that surrounds them, and he can’t help but greedily inhale for the traces of the drug lingering in the air.
“Er– uh..” Cub licks his lips, clenching his teeth. “What would you do if I told you I needed it badly?” he asks instead, keeping his eyes averted from the man beside him.
Scar blinks at him, scooting closer, and Cub almost wants to lean away the moment Scar gets closer. “Do you need it badly, Cub?” the guard whispers, closer than ever, his words brushing against the inspector's cheek with the close proximity between them and the raven inhales shakily.
