Summary
At the ripe age of seventeen, Tommy's been through a lot. As a survivor of a strange cult case, one can tell he might have some pretty fucked up dreams. He's always had nightmares all his life, but for some reason, they take a turn for the worse after living with the Minecraft Household.
Demonic cult worshippers are one thing to haunt his dreams, but as Tommy soon finds out, there's nothing more terrifying than loving someone.

Tommy made the mistake of allowing Wilbur to drag him to a haunted house. He wasn't scared or anything, especially not of something as silly as a baby-ish haunted house. Really, he wasn't scared, so when Wilbur drags him along with Phil and Techno, he's fine with it.

If there was anything Wilbur hated more than nature, it was kids.
He always hated the other children he went to school with; no matter how hard he tried, he could never fit in like his younger brother Techno could. He gave up on trying to get along with others a long time ago (after being hurt one too many times).
When his father announces he has no choice but to spend the summer with his troop in the woods, he already knows his precious summer is down the drain.
He has enough on his plate - mosquitos, annoying little brother and over-eager father, cruel hearted-teenagers, and yet the world throws a curve ball into the mix. In these woods he’s trapped in for the summer, a less than human-boy waits, ready. In this summer place, there is something dark lurking behind the trees.
While the overbearing heat, pesky bugs, cruel teenage bullies, his father's disaster flirting and his brother's obnoxious popular antics, how the hell is Wilbur expected to survive his summer?
Oh! And not to mention -- there's a cryptid in the woods stalking Wilbur's every move.

Wilbur scoffed, “Nothing, sure- you’re being weird, what’s wrong?”
Tommy shrugged, doe eyed, “Nothing.”
Wilbur’s narrowed gaze softened into something sincere, “I’m not going to get mad at you or anything. Or laugh, or whatever you’re thinking…”
Tommy might just break at that.

Summary
Tommy’s life is falling apart, and there is nothing he can do about it.
It comes with the trees changing. Green fading into oranges, yellows, and browns. The temperature is dropping, his teachers are preparing for fall break that’s 2ish weeks away, and he’s starting to wear sweaters more. Mornings on the weekends are spent downstairs on the couch with a blanket cocooning him as his brothers aren’t even awake yet. Nights everyday are spent turned on his left side as his alarm clock ticks further into the morning.
3 times Tommy loses hope, and 1 time he finds it.

Tommy punches the door with both of his hands, almost throwing a tantrum against the bark. He utters the forbidden words- “Help! Help, help! Someone- anyone- please, help me!”
His head is spinning, and his vision is swimming. The edge of his gaze is black and blurry and the last thing he sees before he succumbs to the darkness is a large man wrapping crooked, tattered wings and strong arms around him as he scoops him up from the porch.
Or, in a hybrid-dominated world, winged Tommy runs from Exile and asks for help from Sam, a human man with too many secrets (and way too much knowledge on avians).

He wasn’t even sure why he ever bothered. Dream was his friend- his older brother in all but blood, really- and he’d always been. He’d reassured him of that over and over again when he couldn’t help but think through the Wrong Memories. Maybe back then he believed them.“
