Five years have passed since the halted conclusion of Harringley’s last tour as a band when Steve gets a call that changes everything. After five years of pursuing their own projects, the band is tentatively back together. Sort of. Steve is an adult now—he knows a good opportunity when he sees one and can totally handle being in the same room with the man he loved and lost five years ago. He’s got this.
It’s just… Steve hadn’t expected all the changes in Eddie, or the things he’s missed and is now reminded of, and it’s bringing up a lot of shit he would rather not deal with. Like, how he apparently never stopped loving Eddie Munson at all.
He’s survived Eddie Munson before, why can't he do it again?

"Steve!" A voice bellowed, strained but familiar, carrying from across the park, somewhere just beyond where he stood. Steve took a barreling start, lungs burning as the ash of the upside down slithered down his throat with each heaving breath. Robin and Nancy called after him, Steve throwing the words out, over his shoulder in a harsh cry. "I've gotta get Henderson!"
His sides ached, each shift of his muscles coaxing a choked back whimper from Steve as he rushed towards Dustin's cries. Just beyond the fence, surrounded by what had to be hundreds of those fucking bats, limp and twitching against the crackling, crumbled pavement. There Dustin sat, slump on the ground with Eddie's body cradled in his arms.

Two children produced from the union: Raven and Qrow, or at least, as they’re known in English. He’s got a three-thousand dollar price on his head, and James is out to finish what men other than him have started: he will bring Qrow Branwen to the hangman’s noose, no two ways about it.
James wants that money.
