Summary
Dazai stared at his subordinate and the white tiger passed out on the ground, dismayed. It almost worked. This was the fourth person they've went to. There was one more person Dazai could take Atsushi to but he had enough reason to guess that it wouldn't work.
Dazai made a face.
There was one person Dazai knew who could do the job. He'd successfully commit suicide though before that gremlin ever found out he had such thoughts. The taste of metallic filled his mouth. He held in the urge to spit it out.
His ears rang as he imagined a shrieking voice yelling his name like it was the worst insult one could come up with and the mirage of fire that surrounded those blue eyes and foul mouth. Ugh, he was so annoying even in his imagination...and short.
Sticking a pinky into his ear to clear out the haunting voice, Dazai went about gathering up his apprentice and the tiger. Maybe fate would take pity on him and this next trip would solve their problem...
He could feel the cursed blood laughing at him all the way back to their hotel room.
Or a magical AU where Dazai inadvertently gets Atsushi cursed and they have to go to Chuuya, a powerful witch in his own right, to break it.

Dazai’s vision was assaulted with fiery hair, ocean eyes, fair skin… The man wore scrubs with little paw prints on them and Dazai felt his mouth dry up.
Why he had that reaction, he would ponder on later during one of his sleepless nights because Dazai had never been one for experiencing emotions, and at the moment that weird organ in his chest was fluttering-

Finally having Dazai within reach, head against his chest, stray strands of freshly shampooed brown hair tickling his chin and said brunet napping safe in his arms while they laid on a couch in a small countryside house he had purchased, was a great fucking outcome.
He made sure to hide his tracks, no one would find them. Not his other self, not the Special Ability Division fucks, not the Mafia nor the Agency.
No one.
And if Dazai somehow found out he isn't Chuuya?
That's fine, he'll do whatever it takes to keep his partner by his side.

Record expunged, thanks to extorting Ango, a long conversation with The President, and a few hours of final considerations, Dazai is going to join the Armed Detective Agency. “If both sides are the same, become a good man.” has played on a loop in his mind for so long.
Should he have told Chuuya first? Before sneaking off into the night like a runaway teen? Probably. He’s not feeling guilty or anything though, of course. Dazai doesn’t experience guilt, right?

Something had shifted even more lately, like a weird tension had mixed in the easiness that had started to grow between them. Dazai's eyes had started to linger longer than necessary after they had finished talking, or bickering, or were just sitting closer than normal during a meeting. Every time, Kunikida wondered how a genius could be that stupid.

The panicked energy he’d been carrying since Atsushi called and said Akutagawa and Chuuya-san are receiving treatment from Yosano-sensei right now fades into a quiet thrum. He had expected something else. Something worse. After all, being in Yosano’s care has grave implications; this hallway has seen enough pacing to attest to that.
Chuuya is hit with an Ability that erases specific memories. It isn't as bad as it seems.

Summary
Chuuya’s hands slide down his face, trembling fingers dragging across flushed skin. His eyes are glossy, and his vision is blurry.
His fingers curl around something familiar. He pulls it out, and stares at it through tear-filled eyes.
"...Hah..." He exhales shakily, the sound bitter and empty. The gun feels cold and heavy in his hand, so different from the usual thrill it brought during missions.
He presses the barrel to his temple, his thumb brushing the trigger.
"Chuuya?"
The voice pierces through the haze like a knife, sharp and jarring. Chuuya flinches, his grip instinctively tightening around the gun as his unfocused eyes snap toward the doorway.
There he is.
The familiar mop of unruly brown hair that Chuuya adores running his fingers through—gentle, soothing motions as he hummed some half-remembered tune to the sleeping brunet. The memory hits like a punch to the gut, and his throat tightens as a faint, bittersweet smile tugs at his lips.
Dazai stands there, wide-eyed, frozen in pure, raw shock.
