After growing up wild in the forests and cliffs of Hateno, and fighting in a war his kingdom was not prepared for, Link abandons his title as a faithful guard to Princess Zelda.
Link dies at Fort Hateno when Calamity struck, and stands before the Goddess Hylia to receive his newfound freedom as Hateno's Gold, the diety of Spirit Ruins.
