But it’s for good reason! He doesn’t want to get in trouble with Venomshank, because that just means more time locked up in the house, cleaning up Sisyphus’s feathers, which get everywhere.
Yes, Sword loves the bird. No, he does not like cleaning up feathers.
Now, what does this have to do with Sword not being a complete goody-two-shoes?
For about a week, now, Zuka’s been staying late at the shop, mostly due to an unusual influx of customers. And, also, Venomshank’s been doing whatever godly deities do, so his house is pretty empty.
So, of course, the most reasonable thing to do is to spam Sword’s phone and beg him to let him sneak over and hang out for the night.

When he glances over at Jabber’s face, he’s only half-surprised to see that the taller man’s eyes have closed, cheek smushed against Zanka’s shoulder. Summary
Zanka was never supposed to start calling Jabber in the first place, much less be making a pattern of it, but a pattern it very much is. It started a week after the stomach of the trash beast, a month after Jabber pressed bloody lips to Zanka's choker and dipped his own in the puddle of Zanka's blood slowly growing around his paralyzed body.
"Call me?" he'd said, all boyishly sweet, like he lived in a world where they weren't both going to die before the age of twenty one.
Zanka couldn't move his mouth because Zanka couldn't move anything, but if he could, he would have said: Fuck you. Not a chance in hell.Zanka has insomnia. Jabber has an unconventional solution.

Enjin notices it first, eyes going wide and unable to look away. Zanka doesn’t say anything, just lets him get an eyeful of the ten, pretty silver rings decorating his fingers and pretending that they’ve always been there, that they belong there.
Zanka takes good care of vital instruments. It’s why he’s considered the best at handling them, after all.

He wondered what type of earrings Jabber would like. His eyes locked on to a pair of dark purple earrings. It was a dangling hook earring with a central purple crystal set in silver with detailed carvings and several smaller dangling purple crystals. It looked like it was made for Jabber. He picked it up, and he realised that inside the large purple crystal there was a design, it looked like some kind of flower. He vaguely remembered seeing a flower like that in some book he read.
