He dropped a few in his basket, turning around. His head was kept low, so he missed the person that was walking full speed in the opposite direction, bumping right into them.
Some of Toshiro’s stuff toppled out of his basket, an “oof!” coming from the stranger in front of him.
Apologizing immediately, Toshiro bent down to pick up his belongings, and his hand touched the strangers. He brought himself to look at their face, tilting his head. He was greeted with the brightest gold eyes he’d ever seen.
“Sorry about that,” the man’s smooth voice said shortly, nearly overlapping Toshiro’s own apology.
After a turbulent divorce, Toshiro moves to a new town with his child and tries to start anew with just the two of them. He enrolls them into the local soccer team and Laios Touden crashes into his life with no remorse.
Meanwhile, on a dating app, Toshiro develops an innocent friendship with a man that goes by the name of wingedlion, their online and real-life identities slowly blurring together without them realizing it.

He had, in typical Felix fashion, made it sound gory, thankless, tailored only to suit his own self-interest, and in the ensuing years Sylvain and his remaining friends had spun countless speculations about his exploits.
And here was Felix, dancing expertly while Leonie circled the crowd, cajoling people for their coin. Felix had spent his entire life building himself into one thing, and that was a sword, a cold, unfeeling piece of metal, and look where that had landed him.
Cold and unfeeling. Was that how Felix felt, twirling prettily under so many gazes? Had Felix been as cold and unfeeling laying with them as he'd been blushingly asking Sylvain whether they could take it slow?

“Sweater curse” (definition), aka. “curse of the love sweater”: A term used by knitters to describe the belief that if a knitter gives a sweater to a significant other, it will lead to the recipient breaking up with the knitter. In an alternative formulation of the myth, the relationship will end before the sweater is ever completed.
Felix tries to knit Sylvain a sweater, despite the old wives’ tales about a curse.
It takes him a while; ten years, to be exact.

Dimitri is a king begging for a weapon. Sylvain is a perfectly fine dagger sitting unsheathed in front of him, but Dimitri will probably wax poetic about propriety and rank and all that shit if he says so. He takes Dimitri’s hand and presses a kiss to the bare skin under his glove instead, adds a graze of teeth that makes Dimitri gasp before pulling away. He likes predictability. Keeps everyone safe.
