Summary
Following Lady Angelica of Clovermont and The Sovereign as their friendship slowly develops into love and, eventually, a marriage they chose for themselves.
Amid his leprosy, hidden face, unequal rank, family expectations, and the political dangers surrounding the restored Tower of Brizh, Angelica and the Sovereign learned to build a life together on trust rather than duty. Behind closed doors, where his silver mask could finally come off, they discovered a tenderness neither had expected.

Summary
The Sovereign, clearly, was going to say something. The air trembled with the anticipation of it, but the weight of it stuck in their throat. Gwendan couldn’t stand it. They had ordered him into battle after battle, duels to the death, fights with demons, but whatever this was had proved beyond their speech?
“Well? Out with it!” he insisted. He watched the insult to their station hit into their sternum and ripple through them. He waited for the chastisement. Instead, he watched their shoulders rise with breath, then fall again. They took another step closer.
“Gwendan,” they said, “Tell me about your debt with Brimwood.”
--
The Sovereign has to send Sir Gwendan away to repay his debtors. There is much more yearning involved than either of them wantedSeries

Summary
The chatter around the table continued but Billy wasn’t paying attention to it, instead focused on the way Goody’s shoulders slowly relaxed and his hand went back to tracing patterns on Billy's back, the lines in his face smoothing out again. Billy gave Goody a private little smile as Goody held the cigarette to Billy’s lips, holding it steady as Billy took a long drag, lips almost pressed to his fingers, leaning into each other’s space.
