Inside the box was a camcorder. It was decent quality, he could tell, and clearly brand new, chirping cheerfully to life as he opened the viewfinder and automatically focused on his dresser across the room.
“Oh– uh, thank you.” He cleared his throat. “Really, Lawrence, thanks. It’s super sweet of you. But, um, I mostly do–”
“Still photography. I know.” There was a slight blush on Lawrence’s face now, too. His hand found Adam’s knee, his thumb rubbing little circles into his skin through his jeans. “Like I said, this is…well, it’s for both of us to enjoy.”
“Why’re you looking at me like–” It hit Adam very suddenly: his intense stare, the hand creeping up his leg, the camcorder he held in his hands. “Oh my God. Oh my God, Lawrence.”
“What?”
“You– you want to make a sex tape, don’t you?”

“I knew it,” Adam purred, arching his back as Lawrence’s hands traced their way up his spine. “I mean, I already know you love it when I sit on your lap, and I definitely already know that you love spoiling me, so I guess it makes sense that you’ve got a secret Santa kink.” He paused. “A Santa kink that you’ve kept a secret, I mean. Not a kink for, like, giving your coworker a ten dollar candle from Bath and Body Works.”
Lawrence sighed heavily, but Adam could tell it was hiding a laugh. Poorly, at that. “Adam…”
“Want me to tell you what a good boy I’ve been? Show you how much I deserve what I want?”
“I’d give it to you anyway.”
“I know. But it’s more fun if I have to beg.” Adam pressed their chests together, still undulating his hips. “So make me.”
“I don’t think that begging is usually part of the Santa equation–”
“Please,” Adam moaned into his ear, and Lawrence’s jaw snapped shut.

I was thinking about you tearing me open again. I was thinking about you shoving your fingers into my skin and making me bleed for you.”
Silence lands dead and hollow between them.
Benson’s eyes are the color of the shadow under his bed. The color of firework smoke after the sparks burn themselves away. His tongue darts out from between his lips, and even though Randy’s sure by now that he’d never kill him, never hurt him or leave him, he’s positive for the briefest of seconds that he’s about to turn tail and run.
He doesn’t.
“What do I do to you next?” he asks.

Her lips twitched again.
“Do you think people can really change?” Addison asked, after a long moment of strangely comfortable silence. “I mean– you’ve seen it, right? People here getting better, healing? It’s not just…it isn’t just a cycle. Right?”

“The thing,” Whitaker repeats. Robby watches the red on the tips of his ears stretch all the way to the lobe. “Oh, the—that, um, I—”
“Oh, hey, Whitaker, look. You don’t have to answer that. I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking. We don’t—it’s fine. Not that you wouldn’t—” Oh shit, now he’s the one babbling. Panic creeps up the back of his neck, just as pulsing and pink as Whitaker’s face. “You’re a good-looking kid and you should put yourself out there is what I’m saying. Try your luck every now and again. Live a little. I did when I was your age.” God, Robinovitch, shut the hell up. He’ll never hear the end of it from Jack if he doesn’t stop running his mouth. He closes his eyes for a moment, raising his hands in surrender. “It’s not my business. Never mind.”
“The score is zero,” Whitaker says, quietly.
“Well I’m sure it won’t stay that way for long.” He says it before he can help it. God he is so fired.

“I cleaned out your closet the other day,” says Lawrence, choosing his words carefully. “I didn’t find the film you were looking for, though.”
“Thanks.” Adam gives him a sheepish smile, then crosses over to the other side of the kitchen, an open carton of heavy cream in one hand. “I would’ve done it myself, but, y’know—”
Adam cuts himself off mid-thought. Cream sloshes past the mouth of the carton, running down the side and onto his hand. Over the course of what can’t be longer than a split second, his expression shifts from blissful unawareness, to dawning realization, to abject horror. His throat bobs. He stands there in place, staring at Lawrence.
Lawrence stares back. “…Yes?” When Adam doesn’t reply, he says, “Put the carton down. You’re going to drop it.”
“Uh.”
