There was an uproar from the Herald’s Rest, muted dully through the stone and wood.
“Vivienne,” she said, crossing the threshold without a shred of allowed hesitation. And then stiffly took another two steps so Vivienne could lock it behind her.
“The Iron Bull,” the man himself added. He was seated in front of a rickety table, half-drunk cup of orange-blossom tea and Wicked Grace cards strewn on the top. Cassandra swallowed a lick of embarrassment; she was several minutes earlier than agreed upon, but had they still been waiting on her arrival? Bull just grinned and threw his cards into the center. “I thought we were just saying names.” -
