Ever since they've defeated Vecna, Mike has tried to kill himself 7 times.
He can't put a finger on it when it really started. When suicide became a normal part of his daily thought process, when images of slitting his wrists or allowing his body to dangle from a rope hung by hands that used to embrace his friends or set dnd campaigns became his everyday hell.
Or, Mike and Will are fucking going through it after Vecna is defeated because people don't just continue after that and trauma is real.

TLDR: The Rogues return to live at the tower after the Civil War. Since the events of Homecoming, Peter and Tony had become extremely close, eventually pulling in Pepper and Nat, who had fixed things with Tony.
When the Rogues practically destroy Tony again by being at the tower while Peter watches, Peter has one man to blame.
Steve Rogers.
And he can be as cold and sharp as his father when he wants.
