Summary
Arthur Pendragon is one of Camelot Cricket Club's best players, an all-rounder set to make the national team if he plays his cards right. That is, until he injures himself mid-match. Recovery is nasty on your own, so Gwen and Morgana suggest Gwen's friend Merlin to help out around the house while Arthur heals. Arthur is reluctant to have a near stranger in his flat, but after a while he finds himself rather fond of Merlin and his 2 AM grilled cheese.

This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::

Summary
Following in his father’s footsteps was in his destiny, Arthur Pendragon knew that for sure. He was born to live in his father’s shadow, his ideals were supposed to be Arthur’s ideals too. Being a prince came with many responsibilities. He must be just like the king.
He never wanted to be though.In other words;
Arthur goes to the rebel camp to be a spy due to his father's orders, but he falls in love with the leader of the camp, Merlin.

Merlin startles as Arthur clears his throat.
The prince is standing over him, all practice sweaty, helmet by his hip. And a scowl across his gorgeous face. As usual.
“Merlin, do stop staring. Did you wish me to bed you or something?” He jokes.
Merlin feels his eyes fly wide.
“No!” He lies. Loudly.
