Calling him any other thing would have felt disingenuous... but it still felt wrong.
“Of course. Humans need to adapt to their surroundings to live and survive. But snakes do not adapt when their skins shed, nor do they become anew. They become more of what they already are.” Rubin spoke slowly, choosing his words with either care or caution while looking at Daniil’s signature coat on the rack.

Alhaitham's fingers carded through blonde hair, scratching at his scalp as he carefully worked out the tension from being pinned back and styled all day. It was mind-numbingly good, and Kaveh essentially moaned at the sensation. Alhaitham cleared his throat. "...you feel as if you need discipline?" he asked quietly.
Of course he did. Kaveh was a mess. He nodded into his partner's skin and almost felt the rumble of the responding hum. For a while, neither man moved nor spoke. The arms holding Kaveh felt safe, and he melted into them. One hand continued to pet his hair while the other rubbed small circles on his back with feather-light fingertips. Kaveh pressed an adoring kiss to a strong shoulder, letting his own hands tangle gently--if not clumsily--into silvery locks.
"Would you be receptive to allowing me to administer that discipline?"

In light of some self-destructive habits, Alhaitham and Kaveh fall into a new dynamic. It's an embarrassing shift of power in the household when the time comes to address the issue, but they know each other well enough to trust in it.

All new SHIELD agents are given a psych workup that is used to determine what the best means of discipline would be for each recruit. Enough agents respond best to spanking that specific training in spanking techniques and other associated skills (scolding, how to read when someone's really had enough vs. just needs to struggle, appropriate aftercare, tailoring all of the above a specific agents and situations) is a standard part of the training all handlers and senior agents get. Agents must discuss with, agree and consent to all forms of discipline with their handlers/superiors everyone involved gets a veto.
The psych eval, and pretty much anyone who's ever worked with him, agree that Agent Barton will respond best to spanking. In fact, he doesn't seem to respond to any other form of discipline at all. And he's vetoed spanking and refuses to discuss it.

“Did you, possibly, think that it would be easier to have… someone else…” he didn't need to finish his sentence.
“I don't need you to play nurse with me,” Kaz bristled almost immediately, sobering up.

The medical team are only trying to look out for Kaz when they give him a hand-held vibrator. According to Ocelot, it helps reduce muscle atrophy, and will help kick some of the soreness out of his infernal leg. Kaz isn't convinced, he knows what these tools get used for, and he wants no part in it.
That is, until he has a particularly bad bout of phantom limb pain in the middle of the night...________________________
