After Oda's death, Dazai looses his memories. He wakes up in a hospital and becomes a teacher at Houzomiyuki where he meets Kunikida Doppo.
While his friend quits after two years to become a detective, he's content with his current life as a teacher.
But despite not wanting anything to do with his forgotten memories, he's still being dragged around by those who seem to know him.

Summary
Sakunosuke seemed to be the only one in the school who could get through to Dazai, and he seemed to spend a lot of time with the boy. It wasn't unusual, Sakunosuke was well loved within the school and he seemed to get along with pretty much every kid. Sakunosuke was blunt, honest and seemed to be unphased by anything.
Kunikida glanced at the man. He wore white dress shirt, dark blue jeans and white name tag in a blue keychain. His slightly messy hair was the colour of burgundy and his blue eyes glinted when he turned his gaze from the window and to Kunikida, rolling his eyes just slightly. Kunikida could not help but nod slowly, hoping that the two in front of him wouldn't notice.
Dazai flew the door open, walking in with graceful and pompous steps, as if he was a king walking into his servant's room. Atsushi lagged behind, carefully taking in the surroundings and atmosphere of the room. He seemed slightly startled by the grave air that was soon to be disturbed by Dazai, as it was every time.
"Oh, how lovely to see my beloved father and his former husband here!" Dazai exclaimed with fake cheerness dripping of liquid saccharine.
