Summary
To have stardust in (one’s) eyes is to be naively, overly optimistic, especially regarding one’s success; often used to describe hopeless romantics.
Husker has been more stoic than brash, more inclined to wear a poker face than a manic grin since nearly losing his soul to the Radio Demon. It’s suited him just fine in the 20 years since! The average sinner knows not to cheat or steal from him, knows the stories of his aggressive past, and knows the number one rule of The Stardust Hotel & Casino is "don’t fuck with the Gambling Demon."
After a particularly infuriating incident involving Valentino trying to do business in his establishment with a dubiously consenting whore, followed by the coincidentally inconvenient loss of his lounge act, Husker caves to Valentino’s request for a poker game, hoping to humiliate and annoy him by winning his studio. But plans change when someone with a Hell of a persona seems all too eager to help him cheat.
Or: the angsty, suspiciously fluffy, and deceptively slow burning overlord Husk Huskerdust AU. Inspired by @SuperCellAlpaca on x

Summary
"Well you just gonna stand there? Open it." Cherri glared at him across the kitchen counter.
Gingerly, Anthony unfolded it reading over the first few paragraphs. He dropped the rest of the papers to the floor.
"I got the part."
Anthony just got the role of a lifetime. Not only that, his co-star is his longtime celebrity crush: Husk. But something isn’t quite right. The way people talk about Husk and how he actually is does not match up. And it's driving Anthony insane.
OR
A huskerdust actor AU filled with angst. It’s set in Hell, with Hazbin as a real show being filmed. Angel and Husk are actors that go from ‘hating’ each other to falling in love. All while dealing with a psycho-homophobic-publicist and a shitty (ex) girlfriend.

How did I end up here, Husk finds himself wondering, reverse cosmonaut, head floating cloud-light above his vest-clad torso in a fishbowl of existential doubt. In Hell, hope holds you by the ballsack and shakes you down for spare change. When did it all go so wrong?

A few days before the Cleanse, local menaces Husk & The Radio Demon haunt a pub to do a magic show, bully a waiter, get shitfaced, and talk at length about a whole lot of nothing. All in all, a good night out.

2024 Edit: Despite this story being written when only the Pilot was out, I've decided to update and edit it for series-canon compliance. Also, correcting some long-neglected grammar mistakes.Bookmarked by infinite_obsessions

Amazing character study on Husk and Alastor (but mostly Husk)
Absolutely perfect, and bittersweet through and through (╥ω╥`) -

Summary
Husk is a down on his luck drunk who’s running out of money and second chances when he lands a job at The Mirage, the last queer speakeasy still standing in 1937 New York City. It’s a decent job and nothing more—until Friday night, when he first catches sight of the club’s star dancer, Angel, and an instant attraction threatens to turn his whole world upside down.
Angel is juggling two lives, a mob boss’s son by day and a cabaret dancer under the thumb of a cruel pimp by night. He loves the crowds, the glamor, the excitement, but he pays a heavy price for all of it, a price nobody but the new bartender seems to see.
Both men have the odds stacked against them, but they can’t help but be drawn to each other. Still, after the cards they’ve been dealt, it’s hard to believe in happy endings. Can coked out whores and washed up drunks like them ever really make it out of the gutter?
A Huskerdust-centric human AU set in 1930s New York.
