Wonderful story of how Sherlock became a new and different man and John sought and found him and learned to forgive. Evocative tale filled with celtic music and love of many kinds.

    Summary

The night before they travel to Dorset to spend Christmas with Sherlock's parents and John's wife, 221 Baker Street is peaceful with the smell of baking, flickering candles and presents under the tree. But Father Christmas can't be relied upon to bring the boys their heart's desires. Just as well Mrs Hudson - who is NOT a fairy godmother OR their housekeeper, thank you very much - is so good at her job.

I love the sweetness of this story. It makes so much more sense than the canon does: John wouldn't be able to forgive Mary for coming so close to killing Sherlock, and both John and Sherlock would have become aware of how much they loved each other during Sherlock's recovery. Most of all, Mrs. Hudson would be able to sort them out and bind them together with their own heartstrings. She's much more than a housekeeper.

    Summary

'You will forget all that you hold dear,' the sorcerer had vowed before he attacked Arthur, leaving his patrol dead and Arthur achingly thankful that for once, Merlin hadn’t been with him. Well, and he is quite certain that he hasn’t forgotten anything.

As it turns out, everyone else has; specifically about him, and that Camelot is supposed to have a crown prince.

When Merlin stumbles across him by chance, Arthur should be relieved. And he would be, really—if he hadn’t just been stabbed, and found out that Merlin has magic while he was at it. That Merlin does not remember who he is, either.

It all gets a lot more complicated from there on out as Arthur tries to keep his own secrets, deal with the revelations about Merlin, and find a way not only to restore Camelot's memories, but protect it against the threats gathering on the horizon, too.

When it rains, it pours; sometimes, the aftermath might just be worth it.

Beautifully written. Arthur, Merlin, and those around them are three dimensional, complex characters, and the plot is well thought out and doesn't sag. I particularly liked the description and explanation of Merlin's magic and the final battle between Morgana and Morgause, Arthur and Merlin. Long, but very worthwhile.

    Summary

Arthur is an Oxford Blue. Merlin is an Oxford cox. Lancelot is Merlin's romantic-dalliance-loving friend. Morgana is horribly clever; Gwen is cleverly waiting for Lancelot to grow up. Merlin and Arthur rub each other the wrong way, at first, but it soon becomes clear that Arthur is a university-class rower with a world-class heart (yes, I typed that). Clichés ensue.

Merlin and Arthur are members of the Oxford Blues along with Lancelot. Morgana is Arthur's step-sister and Guinevere is the Oriel cox. The story is about their lives as they prepare for the Boat Race against Cambridge. There is also some magic involved. Lancelot is full of corny lines and pranks, Arthur and Merlin are epically bad at negotiating a romantic relationship, Gwen is waiting for Lancelot to grow up and Morgana takes charge of them all. Lots of information about boat training and an exciting race to the finish. Just remember, these folks have nothing to do with their namesakes, but it's still a lot of fun.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This is a wonderful story about how Sherlock Holmes learned about love when he became a parent accidentally, and how John Watson, who had gone walkabout to deal with all the pain and fury he was carrying, returned and was able to become Sherlock's love and lover and the father of his boy. Very charming and, oddly, believable.
