Aventurine’s head whipped back into place to face Ratio. Those words couldn’t be real. Not coming out of Ratio’s mouth, and not directed towards Aventurine. He needed confirmation. He needed confirmation that this was real, he wasn’t dreaming, he wasn’t insane, he was here, he was real and that actually happened. Because not even in his wildest dreams would something as impossible as this occur. Desperately, Aventurine seized Ratio’s arms which were loosening around him as he looked to him for validation.
Aventurine stared at him in horror.
Ratio was passed out.

Reminded of the man who nearly sacrificed his life for him, Till feels for his pulse for the nth time that hour.

Mizi looks at him with something in her gaze. Till opens the bottle and takes a sip.

This was his life. Nothing else could surmise it better: Till splayed out on a coffee table in a blazing VIP lounge, laughing like a maniac while a mad sentry masacred segyein to the sound of Ivan’s requiem.
Then and there, in the center of chaos, was Till. Then and there, haloed by licks of flame, was the cold, red orb of the sentry’s optic.
(Or: Till’s journey to the grand finale is littered with needles, teeth and ghosts of his dead gods. Somehow, Ivan follows him.)

Summary
Without thinking, Till reached out and harshly shoved the hand that had reached for Ivan's weak body away, Mizi sucking in a little breath of surprise as she drew back. His face flaming, Till apologised quietly.
"Sorry," he said, his own hand coming to rest on Ivan's chest, the thumping of his heart momentarily quelling a quiet anxiety in his chest.
"Don't be." Mizi's voice was understanding and when Till looked at her, he didn't see the girl he'd spent his entire life chasing. In her place, a friend and ally stood, offering him her hand instead. He reached out and grasped it, basked in the quiet understanding and nodded.

Genuinely though, could've been such good friends but they weren't able to be any closer than they were because of how Till idolized Mizi and put her on a pedestal. Given their time and circumstances, Till needed a guiding light, an idol, a god who gave any semblance of hope, of love, and of tenderness - so did the other kids and they could only look to each other to be that, to be their very reason for living. And to us, that may seem unhealthy (and by our standards, it is) but In a totally ruined world (ORV save me), all they had was each other and that was enough reason for them to continue living and I think that's beautiful. Anyways, Till idolized her because he needed a reason to survive as a kid and now, after everything, the image of her he's formed in his head has shattered and it's okay. Because this image shattering in his mind gave way to something he desperately needed too - a friend, one who understands his grief at that. She needed that too, and even if her heart aches with jealousy at the two of them and how they have the chance to be together, she'd never wish anyone to undergo the grief she went through. Seeing the two of them, she just wants to make sure they have more time than she did with Sua. It's unfair how she was left behind, but maybe that was why they realized their love so early - maybe she can make peace with that, while also burning down what took Sua away from her in the first place. ggrsrhaurgea Mizutill found family save me..
