They have never discussed exclusivity. They have never put a label on whatever this is. And Caitlyn is perfectly comfortable with that arrangement.
Vi, unfortunately, is under the impression that they’re in love.
Or: Caitlyn Kiramman is very good at criminal law and exceptionally bad at realizing she has a girlfriend.

Looking back, Vi supposes that she should have known that she couldn’t have possibly been able to anticipate every challenge that harboring Jinx in her apartment would bring. She should have known that merely providing her with a safe place to lay her head, regular meals, and the presence of her older sister who would bend over backwards for her wouldn’t be enough.
(Her heart pangs when she remembers Powder; anything Vi could have provided was enough for her. But too much had happened and too many years apart had given way to an unfamiliar inability to know exactly what her sister needed at any given time.)

She shifts restlessly, tries to focus. Why the hell did Jinx smell so strong, and why was she even affected by it? Not affected, she reminds herself. Family doesn’t get affected by each other’s cycles.
“The bad news?” she asks roughly. Cait watches her. “The bad news is it’s an illegal recreational heat drug that condenses the normal three-day cycle into 24 hours. If we were able to go to the hospital, the treatment would be to give her artificial alpha pheromones and a drug cocktail to restore her lymphatic system and balance her hormones.” Vi feels her stomach drop but makes herself ask anyway. “Since the hospital’s out of the question, how do I help her?” Cait lowers her eyes. “She’ll need to be saturated in your pheromones, and… and she’ll need to have quite a few orgasms.”

“You good?” Sevika asks, and Vi barks out a laugh.
“Oh yeah. Fucking peachy.” She says through grit teeth, then sucks in smoke harder than was necessary to avoid elaborating.
Sevika leans her shoulder against the wall beside Vi, looking down at her, expression unreadable. There was a bruise forming in the shape of Vi’s knuckles on her jaw. Lucky shot. The only real hit Vi had managed to get in.
“There’s some girls at Babette’s who can’t do penetration either,” Sevika offers, and Vi bristles.

Vi rolled on her side to face Jinx and rubbed her forehead. She looked tired. "But I'd rather see how far this Viktor can go before we blow it up here."
"Hey, I'll have you know I'm on my best behavior, here. The people love me! At least the neighbor does."
She just loved being able to rub it in that she'd gotten a gift from a communer. Meanwhile, Vi kept scaring off every poor sucker who crossed her path with her patented angry guard dog routine. Ha.
But no dice. They were here to stay a while. The so-called miracle healer had warned them it would take time, but they weren't prepared for the waiting. Jinx's impatience kept growing, but every time she thought about demanding an explanation... he'd start calling them by name. He even knew Isha's. That was enough to keep their hope alive.
What does life look like when love is present but belonging is lost? After their miraculous reconciliation, the sisters bring their old man to a rumored healer. As the days stretch, uneasy hope mixes with muted concern—and the terrifying possibility that their restored bond might not be enough.
