Summary
In an alternate universe word Daniel and Max are teammates again in 2024. A combination of figuring out he’s gay and his father sends Max into a downward spiral. He starts throwing up before races and it gets so bad that even helmut looks worried.
(This is a character study of sorts basically my attempt at getting the most realistic turn on events that would happen if Max figured out he was gay.)

Post getting together max navigates being closeted and dating Dan and how scary it it’s to work in Motorsport as a queer person
and Dan navigates finally having the thing he wants but battles with the fear of max leaving or something going wrong
Max moves further from his father than ever as Dan finds out dating takes work

Synopsis:
Growing up in a blank white room and being told your going to “eliminate” the weak of the world isn’t exactly an amazing childhood. Said childhood might be the reason it took Rue so long to figure out the basics like family, gender identity and why the rich don’t help more people. Coming into a bleak hopeless world Rue needs to set things right. Crime fighting is just particularly hard when you’re a homeless 17 year old with only two friends. On top of it all their childhood just keeps following them and slowly turning from vigilante to killer is not on the agenda for them. They can’t seem to keep people around, even the one foster home that they found love in, that put up with their chaotic personality and truly wanted them slips through their fingers. Why must everything go wrong? Can’t they just feel safe and happy for a change? When will they learn about other things than how people can bleed?

“Yes, thank you Dream,” Phil says, pulling out his sword, letting it hang loosely in his hand as Techno holds onto Tommy’s arm, tugging the teen even more, to the point where Tommy thinks he might bump into Techno. “However, as of now, Tommy is under the protection of the Antarctic Empire.”
Dream shakes his head, laughing. “You can’t do that.” And as he walks forward to get closer, Phil points his sword right at Dream’s face.
“Yes, we can.” Phil responds, and Dream takes a step back when the edge of Phil’s sword pokes against his mask.
