Summary
Viktor never escapes the Undercity. He never finds his way to Piltover's Academy. He never takes a job with Heimerdinger and dreams of bigger things. Instead, after ten years as Singed's apprentice, he finds two lost children on the worst night of their lives and gives them a home. In many ways, this changes everything. In others, it changes nothing at all.
“No. You’re going to do something much worse than killing Silco,” Viktor tells Benzo’s ward. “He wants you dead. Out of his path, as he continues to forge forward. Instead, you’re going to survive.”
Viktor offers the boy his hand. “We are obstacles. All three of us. We’ll take care of each other."

Summary
He’s familiar with the space Viktor takes up, standing next to him by the blackboard or sitting down at the tables. He knows how Viktor will shuffle underneath Jayce’s arm to correct a mistake in his maths, or rewrite a messy theory while Jayce prattles on about the next steps. He knows the surprising sturdiness of Viktor’s cane, as it smacks at his ankles when Jayce doesn’t make room fast enough.

Summary
He listened for his mother in the kitchen, heating water on the stove to pour into the bath in order to keep it warm for him. He’s not sure that he would feel it anyway; his skin had been as numb as his mind for months now, but he didn’t protest. Didn’t say much of anything since he got here. Since he collapsed outside his mother’s apartment, crying feebly on her doorstep because he felt too weak to reach up and knock. She found him still, alerted by the thud of his hammer slipping from his grip, tugged him inside, pressed kisses all over his disgusting face and matted hair, and led him to the bathroom.
(OR my interpretation on how Jayce showed up to the council room fight all cleaned up)

Peter startles awake when someone shakes him.
“Sorry, honey,” May says. Peter blinks a couple times and she comes into focus, her hair pulled back from her face. She’s trying not to look a certain way, but he can see it in her eyes anyway. She clears her throat, keeps talking. “But it’s…” She glances away, wets her lips. “You gotta get ready.”
He remembers what day it is, and his heart beats like a drum at someone’s execution. But he tries to put on a mask, make it all seem normal. It’s everything but, despite the fact that he’s been dealing with reaping day since he was born, between himself, Ben and May. That fear that one of them could be taken away. Sent to surefire slaughter. But now Ben is gone, taken despite never having his name drawn from a bowl, and May’s finally safe. Now Peter’s name is in there alone. The last Parker sitting on the chopping block. He doesn’t know how to be. He doesn’t know what normal is, when the Hunger Games are looming on the horizon.

Gravity no longer compresses on the lungs and standing allows the diaphragm to move with full lung expansion, optimizing airflow.

The other man looked up, confused. It still sounded very much like a problem. The sentiment must have been clear on his face because Jayce quickly explained.
