Narumi grins as he steps up to stand beside the reporter. She turns smoothly to hold her microphone towards him. “So, Captain, what will you be doing after this fight to celebrate your victory?”
Narumi takes a deep breath. Now, he thinks, would be the perfect time to say something cool.
Unfortunately, that’s also when his earpiece crackles to life.
Vice-captain Hoshina is engaging the second kaiju, reports the control room.
“Hoshina,” grits Narumi out unthinkingly.
“Oh!” the reporter gasps breathily. Her cheeks pinken. Before them, the cameraman chokes.
Or: After a misconstrued interview with the media, Narumi is obliged to fake-date Hoshina for the sake of the Defense Force's publicity ratings. Along the way, Narumi gains a roommate, struggles with his feelings, and discovers just how difficult it is to tell where a pretend relationship ends and a real one begins.

Summary
First Division Captain Narumi Gen is widely regarded as one of the strongest officers in the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force. With his signature magenta Retina-0001 eyes, the First Division Captain is said to have surpassed the combat power of the actual Kaiju No. 1. He's a monster amongst humans.
Even so, his boyfriend, Hoshina Soshiro, gently reminds him that Narumi Gen is still very much human and he's allowed every human experience, including grief. Together, they are taking a journey to the past to unravel some lingering questions about Narumi's family and the childhood the captain no longer remembers.
But some things may not be as simple as they seem—why is JAKDF leadership and Izumo Tech also interested in Narumi's family history? And is Hoshina hiding something?

Ignoring the jabs toward himself and Ashiro, Hoshina says, "Captain Ashiro is busy with her duties. You, on the other hand, have probably been playing videogames on the floor of your room all day long."
Narumi winces slightly, not liking the fact that Hoshina seems to know him very well. They're a pebble in each other's shoes; Hoshina shouldn't be asking him to spar as if they were on friendly terms.

Hanamaki Takahiro usually isn't this ridiculous.
Sure, he's had a couple of dumb moments. A couple of stupid decisions. Who hasn't?
But falling in love might have been the worst decision he´s made in a while.
Add that with a drunken night depressingly crying with a lovestruck Oikawa Tooru, and Hanamaki has made a recipe for disaster.
Now he's waking up to a pounding head, and a Matsukawa Issei that is acting…quieter than usual. A Matsukawa Issei that is picking at his food in disinterest. A Matsukawa Issei that mumbles at his plate and doesn't meet his eyes. A Matsukawa Issei that blurts out that they should move in together for college.
So now Hanamaki is left with two questions:
1. Why the hell is Matsukawa acting like that?
