Summary
Evan “Buck” Buckley is reeling from his best friend, Eddie Diaz, temporarily moving to El Paso, Texas. It doesn’t help that he seems to be harbouring some more than friendly feelings for the previously mentioned best friend. His presumably straight best friend. After being coerced into confessing his feelings by his sister, Maddie, Buck decides he needs to download a dating app to get over it. What he doesn’t expect is to see Eddie in his hinge likes. Buck believes someone is using his best friend’s likeness to catfish him and hatches a plan with the help of Eddie to catch the catfish. Little does Buck know, Eddie is actually the owner of the profile and was hoping to use it to confess his new found romantic feelings to his friend. Will Buck find out Eddie is behind the whole thing? Will the two men finally realize they are in love with each other and close the distance between them?

Summary
St. Anthony’s was his last chance, and Evan knew that. He had been kicked out of five schools in the past six years, and after his sophomore year ended with a meeting between his parents and his last headmaster that could be summarized with: “we’re not kicking him out, but just know that Evan is not welcome back in September.” His parents wanted to send him to military school.
Evan knew he couldn’t survive military school, that would be his last drop, the one that finally shattered the vase. He couldn’t be the type of person that would be able to put himself back together once they broke him down.

Buck is the new kid in an El Paso boarding school, trying his best to stay out of trouble. Eddie is a rockstar (in the world of high school popularity) he's captain to the football team, he's dating the most popular girl in school, and looking at a full ride sports scholarship in the fall. He should feel like he won at life, which is why he doesn't understand why the only time he feels alive is when he catches a glimpse of the new guy on the running team.

Summary
He lay in bed at night and he wished he didn’t, but he thought about Buck. Wondered who was touching Buck. Who was seeing him in that way. He wondered if Buck felt satisfied at the end of it or if he just felt more alone. He wondered if Buck needed him and wasn’t saying so.
He wondered what it must be like to have Buck that way. To hold him close, to hear the sounds he’d let slip when he was too distracted to be in his own head. He wondered how he’d look when he came undone, and if the person he was with could even begin to fathom how lucky they were.
But no, Buck just went back to eating his cereal, like he hadn’t just confessed to something that made Eddie’s whole body burn with too many feelings to articulate.
He was humming, happy as a pig in mud.
And as weird as he’d been with Eddie, Eddie found himself asking: “Sorry, are you humming Losing My Religion?”
OR -
Buck fucks, Eddie befriends a priest, and the whole thing burns to the ground.

Or

Eddie frowned. "So basically, we'd be boyfriends, without benefits?"
"Yes!" Buck snapped his fingers. "Like platonic boyfriends! We'd get all the benefits of a relationship and none of the heartbreak."
And maybe Eddie had finally lost his mind, or maybe it was from all the alcohol clouding his judgment, but the idea of it didn't sound half as crazy as it should have.

Summary
Years before joining the 118, Buck’s travels take him to El Paso, where he meets Christopher. When Eddie comes back from Afghanistan and Shannon leaves, Buck ends up staying. As bills pile up, the best move is for them to get married, just for convenience, they’ll divorce when Eddie comes back from his re-enlistment.
Then Eddie gets injured and it’s just easier to stay married for a little longer, while Buck gets started at the 118. However, Buck doesn’t mention his ‘husband’ and kid, not feeling like they’re his to keep. When Eddie gets the offer from Bobby, they decide to lie and pretend they don’t know each other, so they can work together.
The whole lie gets out of hand as feelings start to become real, until it all comes to a head in the aftermath of the fire engine explosion.
AKA: Secret marriage of convenience buddie slow burn AU, where Buck and Eddie have been married for years so Buck could adopt Chris and no one at the 118 knows.
