Summary
Oswald Cobblepot works hard at his boring clerical job at the GCPD under Captain Fish Mooney’s guidance. Content to see his life’s greatest accomplishment be the victory over his previous, criminal self, Oswald keeps a low profile. This is what makes him the perfect mark for one of Gotham’s more lost souls, The Riddler, who is desperate to find a mentorship that will help him end his self-made conundrum of villainy, even against the advice of his partner in crime, Kristen “Red” Kringle, and the King of Gotham himself, Lucius Fox. Reluctant to advise Edward Nygma, but caught sympathizing with him due to undeniable similarities, he and Oswald grow close, despite circumstances and doubts.
(A "morality" swap of Gotham canon, where the "bad guys" and "good guys" exchange places in a timeline and universe superseding the show's.)

After escaping Indian Hill, one of Hugo Strange's successful reanimation projects begins the arduous task of piecing together a life for herself after becoming an amnesiac during her resurrection. Not even able to recognize the face in the mirror, there's only a few things she knows about her existence: she woke up in with the name Edward Nygma on her lips, there's a photograph of someone she perfectly resembles in a stolen police evidence file, and it says he killed the woman whose sparse, short life is detailed inside.
Without answers, she remains chained to a life she can't mentally recover, still presumed dead and free from all but her most-hidden terrors. Unless fate hasn’t unbound her yet.
[An AU where Kristen Kringle and Isabella Flynn are the same person; begins in s2b, spans s3a, is canon-compliant until forced to divert from s3b canon.]

After sentimentality strikes Sophia's plans down, she does the one thing Oswald kept asking of her—she tells the truth, and he decides, in light of her being his only friend left, to not seek vengeance. Unfortunately, selling the outside world on a Falcone-Cobblepot partnership is going to take more of an action for both mobsters than they ever planned on. It's hard to have a happy union when you aren't, and never will be, in love.
A canon-divergent (after 4x09, before 4x10) "frenemies" caught in a platonic, political marriage, and how true family is defined (and redefined) for both of them, when forced to live a lie.

Returning to Oswald to offer his assistance again, and re-pledge his loyalty (and hidden love) on the two-year anniversary of his abrupt departure from Oswald's life, he finds it may be too late to join back up with his once friend and employer.
