Summary
Tango was fumbling with one of the little fidget devices he’d built over the years, made from scraps or odds and ends from the labs, they could spin, blink, roll around, or do countless other little things. When he wasn’t in the mood to work on any handicrafts like glassmaking, he would disassemble and reassemble all these little things instead. Today, unlike usual, he had company. Company in the form of his boyfriend...and wasn't that such a strange thing to think? Then again, stranger had happened. From the spark in Zed's eye when the redstone lit up, to the sight of the glass beads adorning sun kissed skin, all Tango could hope for was to always manage to keep Zed's eye. Considering the gaze of pure adoration he was under, to the point he was flaring again, well...that might not be such a challenge at all.
{In which redstone gadgets are cool, Tango fights his emotions and loses, and flares aren't about to stop Zed anytime soon.}

Tango works hard. He's pretty used to just running till he crashes, then getting up and doing it again. It's been that way for years. Tragic childhood aside, though, as the head of mechanical development, he's been busier than ever. So when Xisuma brings a note from the over-city to his attention, well...a little text couldn't hurt. Right?
Zed is about to go insane. He's a researcher, and while he's grateful beyond words that Cub hired him at the Hot Cave and saved him from getting run out of the city by the biotech institute, if he has to make one more net arrow the exact same way he might just snap. Of course, he's exaggerating. He'll keep facing things with a smile, and Cub always did say he was far to devil-may-care in disposition, but then, if he wasn't, he wouldn't have dropped his phone number down a rift on a whim. And then, he wouldn't have gotten that first text from Tango. Now that would've been a real shame.

Rain makes a noncommittal noise, watching as the buildings start to disappear as they leave town. He shifts in his seat again and rubs his palms up and down his thighs. Slow, absentmindedly.
He sniffs. “Maybe I don’t want to share.” There’s a certain lilt to his voice: not one of petulance like one might expect after suggesting the water ghoul share his treats. Rather, there’s an air of whimsy that coats his words as he rolls his head over to peek at Aether, only solidified by the coy look on his face when Aether sneaks a glance.
