Ilya’s grin was unmistakable. Shane could practically feel it. What he couldn’t tell was why it was there. Did Ilya believe him—and find his miscalculation amusing? Or did he not believe him at all?

Summary
Upon hearing about Oscar’s contract renewal, the reality of their future together starts to sink in. Realizing he’s going to be alongside him for quite some time, Lando decides to now make it his mission to become even closer to the young Australian. Not just as a teammate, but as a friend. The idea seems simple enough, after all, he’s never had trouble becoming friends with his teammates in the past.
Oscar isn’t the same wide-eyed rookie who stepped into his life months ago. He’s more confident, more bold and getting increasingly more comfortable around Lando. But the older boy finds himself drawn to Oscar in ways he can’t quite understand, having to wrestle with certain thoughts whenever Oscar so much as smiles in his direction. The line between friendship and something deeper is getting harder to discern when Lando realizes his affection for Oscar might be evolving into something he never anticipated.

Oscar crouches down next to the tub, his fingers running through his hair. "What is it, baby? What do you need?"
Charles swallows hard, his eyes brimming with tears. "I'm sorry for ruining the night."
"Oh, sweetheart, you didn't ruin anything," Max says, crouching beside Oscar. "You were amazing, and we're all so proud of you."
"But I-"
"Nope, none of that," Lando says, poking his ribs. "Sometimes these things happen,"
"Remember when I had to use my safeword early on in our relationship? I was still new to being a dom and hadn't practiced enough. I was worried you would never want to do this with me again." Max says.
"And remember when I had to use mine?" Oscar adds, reaching out and squeezing his ankle. "I had a panic attack and was so embarrassed I almost broke up with everyone."

You gave me a long lasting headache, he would like to rebuff, but he doesn’t, waving his hand noncommittally, letting Lando snatch it to examine his fingers one by one.
“I hope you’re satisfied, now that you have my undivided attention.”
“Undivided attention, officer? Careful, someone could mistake that for a love confession.”
Oscar’s heart trips in his chest.
“Would you?”After having faked his death, Lando pops back into Oscar's life. This time, however, Oscar is ready for the inevitable shootout that will, presumably, grant him some kind of closure. Is it really possible, though, to run from something as deep as twisted as their relationship?
