Summary
I should probably preface this by saying that I am and always have been a sceptic when it comes to any kind of romantic or sexual attraction between me and other people. During the short romantic involvements I had in my university days, I have not only realised that intercourse seems to be entirely overrated and, quite honestly, more work and effort than the payoff is worth, but also that romantic relationships tend to end in disaster and tears, mostly those of my former partners. I am entirely unequipped to handle this sort of connection and have ever since abstained from it.
Or: Elias decides to give Jon a taste of the power and knowledge he can have under the Eye. Jon has some conflicted feelings about his boss.

Summary
Jon takes a deep breath to fight back the angry, desperate tears that threaten to spill and clog up his throat. His hands are clenched to painful fists, helping him fight for control, not knowing how fruitless it is.
Elias simply watches him, his piercing gaze almost gentle.
“Don’t,” Jon whispers. “Just leave.”
“You still don’t understand,” Elias says, taking a step and then another, until he’s in front of Jon, only a few centimetres taller, yet seeming to loom over him nonetheless. “You’re my Archivist. You are my priority and my responsibility.”Or: Jon returns to the institute bleeding and hurting, and Elias decides to look after him.
