    Cody sat down beside him. Not daring to lay a reassuring hand on him. It was strange hearing him speak so quietly, as if forbidden.

    “Sometimes. I take a deep breath. And while I hold it in, I think. I think to myself I should scream. I should probably scream. This warrants screaming. Why won’t I? I pause, and I ponder. But I always come to the same conclusion. That there’s no point. I must keep walking. There’s no, choice, there’s no, I, I don’t…” His words die on his tongue. There are too many endings to this line of thought. Each one of them true. But like his breath that never screams, there’s no point in saying them out loud, he thinks. And so he stops. And stares. Cody can’t stand it.

    Cody pressed his hand against Obi-Wan’s neck, reaching further down, his thumb resting in the hollow of his throat. He shuddered desperately under the contact, wishing the hand could press further, beneath his skin into his very blood.

     

    “Yes.” He was a little surprised when he managed the word, afraid that Cody’s hand would stop it escaping from his throat.

     

    Cody’s other hand rested carefully on his bare shoulder and Obi-Wan wondered desperately and wildly if touch could burn. If, like this, Cody could truly remake him, shape him into a man that knew rather than remembered touch.

     

    Obi-Wan is horribly and terribly in love with Cody. He dreams of closeness, even as it aches.

    "Soon into the start of the war, accounts began popping up about clone children or clone hybrids, born from natural births. The Kaminoans were very displeased, to say the least.

    Instead of realizing their error and educating the next generations of clones, the Kaminoans simply upped the surveillance and punishment of the cadets they trained. Even accessing the holonet was punishable by decommissioning. Each new class of shinies seemed to be more ignorant than the last.

    It was sad, really. Cody had heard many of their insane sex theories firsthand, and some were truly jaw-dropping. The Commander may not know much himself, but he knew something had to be done.

    Cody had swallowed his pride and brought up the subject with the one natborn he trusted above all others. Which is how they all ended up here.

    Bant shook her head slowly, as if disappointed it had come to this. “What Quin is trying to say, Commander, is that Obi-Wan — though Force knows we love him — seems to attract trouble. He seems to have a pathological desire to show as much of himself off as possible and it doesn’t always end well for his… friends.”

    Was that all? Cody knew about Kenobi’s tendency to lose his cloaks and outer robes already; he had, in fact, been the one to sign off on the requests for replacements until fairly recently. Sure, there had been some particularly lecherous Seppies or politicians that had commented on it, but never in front of Cody or, gods forbid, Obi-Wan himself.

    Besides, Cody didn’t care what Obi-Wan wore. Quite the opposite, in fact. He was of the opinion that the man looked good in anything, as long as he was smiling in Cody’s direction. Even if it did come to matter, later on, Cody could fight. It would be fine.

It’s no secret that the Galactic Republic is a highly corrupt government. Ahsoka wants to help her brothers, in any way possible, no matter how small. But small actions can lead to much bigger changes. A ripple affect through space and time that not even Palpatine can predict. Now, the clone troopers aren’t just fighting separatists. They’re fighting something much more complex. Much older. Much more powerful than even the Jedi are aware.

    Will Ahsoka and her brothers uncover the truth and stop Palatine’s rise to power? Or will Palpatine stop them and take back control of the situation? Only time will tell as war, politics, espionage, treason, and a very popular holonet series shape the future of the galaxy.

    Obi-Wan's exhausted after a long campaign, but there's nothing like ship time for knocking out paperwork. Cody has far better ideas about what to do with his general-- namely, more than a little TLC. Cody came for the shower and he stayed for his general (ft. questionable tea, Mandalorian combat massage, and a moment of peace for two men of war).
