With a quick snap his hatch closed and you were flipped upside down. Your back hit the mat with a soft ‘ow’ and your hands were pinned to either side of your head. “Say it again. Again again again.” Sun’s face was close to your ear, his voice a deep low and you could feel it vibrate your ear.
This was NOT supposed to be happening. Had someone fucked around with his personality chip? He technically wasn’t even allowed to touch staff, though you always gave an exception for hugs. This, however, was beyond inappropriate for his AI. “Sun, I need you to let go of me right now. I have gotta fix your wiring, hun.” You pleaded, but you wouldn’t admit out loud that this was unnecessarily hot. Your stomach was twisting in guilt but he was just so big and he was talking directly to you like that.
“We’ve been pals forever and you can’t even show me I’m your favorite? That’s fine–fine! I’ll show you you’re my favorite, and then I’ll make you prove to me that I’m YOUR favorite!”

Summary

No one is safe, until they make it to a camp with a spunky kid who isn't going to go as quietly as his campmates. David could kill him, but maybe it would be useful to keep Max with them. Afterall, people trusted kids more than adults, and Max isn't squeamish about luring people to their demise. They make a great team, and eventually a great family. They make their way back to Daniel's home town, where they can live safely. But, everything isn't always perfect, and sometimes paradise is just an illusion...
