Summary
Fresh from the hospital bed of an old world, Rafaela Mary Caine was to be migrated to Sweden, parted from her demure family and forced friends. It was 1982 in the suburb of Västerhaninge where the similarly chipping Per Yngve Ohlin resided when the promiscuous Caine arrived and swept the latter person off his heels with her grotesque manner of adoration, inexperienced and quite shy. In the eighties of the previous century, they roamed European streets like a flash of glare like a congregation of angels.
It seems, now, that the observational sheen of the anonymous Scandinavian ‘Circle’ authoring the combined biographies in a romantic manner and studying the pair that met their homely fate in a sullen village of Norway obsessively recognise the seeable-in-hindsight fall of the two with no difficulty. The tale leading up to a foretold aftermath is hence spilt in ink, collected from the crevices of the long-gone lifetimes. Journals, letters, photographs, verbal accounts from fellows, artistry and what not gathered, pieced together bit-by-bit—but, is it true or false? Or, this too, shall pass?

Matt is cocooned in a sea of loneliness.
He is a motherless grub on his bed, disgusting and useless. His limbless body pulsates and squirms as he leeches energy out of his gaming consoles and regurgitates it into frantic, desperate texts to Mello.
He never hears back.
Mello is probably swinging his hips around in the Coyote Ugly Saloon, whipping his blonde hair back and forth, accepting a shot from another stranger.

They must have been sent by Kira to distract him! Light swears he will execute the real Kira if it's the last thing he ever does.
Meanwhile, L is wondering why his favorite killer seems to no longer want him dead.
