Regardless of how unexpected or unwanted, he’d greet the driver of the situation at hand with the same neutral expression, taking his seat as he welcomed the incoming inferno. As he welcomed the inevitable.
He was taught that even the worst-case scenarios were simply…. unfavorable, in the end. And any situations that wielded the most devasting results were either due to circumstances out of his control or he was just too weak to avoid them. Therefore, he deserved whatever he got.

Lance’s back presses against the stone railing--Keith had been silently pushing against his space the entire time. Lance hadn’t even realized they were moving. “You know I saved your ass.”
“You made it so much worse.” A wild exaggeration, Lance rolls his eyes. Sighing, Keith cards a hand through his hair, his gaze a little less hostile now but still biting. “I don’t even know why I asked for your help.”
With Keith all up in his personal space, it’s not that hard for his brain to go to mush as he focuses on the pretty flecks of violet in Keith’s dark eyes. And then on his lips. Lance lazily smiles, just staring at him. “Please, you wanna kiss me so bad right now it makes you look stupid.”
(or, loosely, the five times Keith gets them into a sticky situation and the one time it’s Lance’s fault)

Keith snorted, watching his long fingers move along the seams of the fabric. “And the 1%? What’s that? All of your laundry folding opinions?”
Lance looked up from his work with a twinkle in his eye and that smirk that spelled Keith’s doom. “Nope, it’s actually that entire time I spent thinking I wasn't into you, obviously.” His smirk grew, somehow. “I’m only human.”
