“Hurry up, you’re going to make us miss it!” The Slytherin whispered to the other students.
The students sneaked through the halls with full intentions of watching the ghost stuck in a loop.“Miss what, exactly? What are we even doing here! It’s cold, and if we get caught, we’re surely going to find ourselves in detention!” Rose Weasley chided Albus.
Her cousin ignored her, instead motioning for them to hide behind a particularly large bust. “Every year on this night, it’s rumored that a ghost walks these halls in search of their lover,” he continued, “It’s said that he’s stuck in a time loop. He cannot cross over to the other side.”

“If Voldemort’s raising an army then I want to fight.” Harry said righteously.
“You should let him fight.” A long haired nicely dressed man said leaning in the doorway.
Instantly 20 wands were pointed his way. He continued eating the fruit in his hand calmly.
“Sirius, have Kreacher bring you some veritasium please. God my hair really was dreadful.’ He squinted at Harry. ‘My name is Harry Potter.” He smiled at the room.
Sirius studied him for a minute. “Kreacher.’ The house elf didn't appear. ‘KREACHER!” The house elf appeared breathing hard.
“Intruder in Master Regulus’ room.” The elf choked out half the order ran upstairs and Half stayed down pointing wands.
“Bloody House Elf!” A voice shouted from upstairs.
“Kreacher get me veritasium. Now!” Sirius ordered and the elf surprisingly obeyed.
The order came back down dragging a man with a white blonde braid in.
“MALFOY?!” Ron shouted.
“Weasel.” Draco nodded.

Summary
Some shit goes siriously wrong and Harry along with his merry bleeding-to-death tag-along Malfoy arrive in the year 1943 screaming and hating each other - as well as almost all those around them complicating the mess they're in. One of those is the man ready to murder Harry and his family in the future: Tom Riddle. Still innocent (as much as he ever was) and readily on his way to darkness.
So simply:
Shit happens and things go terribly wrong.

He's not too excited about being back in the Wizarding world, with all of the damage and baggage he had left behind, but he finds solace in the most unlikely of places.

“She’s always been one of my closest friends. Unfortunately, that didn’t transfer over well into our marriage. We wanted different things. Our relationship is easier now, we focus on the boys and we’re both happier for it.”
“Are you?”
“Am I what?”
“Happier? Are you happy now that you aren’t married?” Malfoy’s bluntness took Harry aback a bit, the question running over in his head. Was he happy? He hadn’t ever really thought of it like that. He liked his job and adored his kids. But was he happy? Sometimes Harry wasn’t really sure what the definition of that word even felt like.
“I-I don’t know,” Harry spoke honestly. “Are you?”
“I don’t know either,” Malfoy responded immediately and locked eyes with Harry. The intensity between them grew to be too much and Harry looked down, breaking the contact.
OR
Harry and Draco are both Professors at Hogwarts and single dads while their kids are at school. They form an unlikely friendship and a new sense of happiness in the process.
