Stiles opened his mouth to respond, because he really didn't grasp the concept of hypothetical questions, but Professor Holtz obviously saw this coming and plowed right ahead. "We will be discussing both female and male reproductive cycles, which includes looking at vaginas. Do you have a problem with vaginas?"
Now she was just fucking with Stiles, he could tell. Her lips were practically curling into a damn smirk. "No, I love vaginas. Vaginas are great."

“FUUUUUUCK, is it a sweet valley high situation where Stiles is very aware that his twin is way more attractive and confident than he is, EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE IDENTICAL, and he always ends up with the hotter significant others and more friends and Stiles guesses that's why he's attracted to the pack at first, because it's something that's just his, not his twin's too. But of course, Stiles's twin gets bit and now he's part of Derek's pack, and Derek doesn't snap at him like he snaps at Stiles, never slams him into things, fucking FIGURES, STILES'S TWIN GETS EVERYTHIIIIIIIING.”

In Stiles' six year, there's a breakout of lycanthropy. A series of werewolf attacks, resulting in the sudden shunning of nearly all his friends.
But that comes later. Because this is first year, and one Stiles Stilinski, fresh from losing his witch mom, and possessing one muggle dad who doesn't know the first thing about wizardry, meets one sixth year suffering the stigma of being a werewolf, Derek Hale.
And then it's second year and Stiles is beyond ready to get back to school, maybe for a reason that has to do with a scary seventh year who... doesn't show up. (Because, he finds out later, his entire family was murdered by one of Allison's crazy aunts, and if that doesn't get her a few stares...)
Third year comes with a lot of surprises. Also Derek's uncle comes back from the dead.
Fourth year is really actually boring, until Scott and Stiles get lost in the forbidden forest.
Fifth year is the year the Triwizard Tournament is held at Hogwarts, and Stiles thinks Danny and Lydia might be sharing the same boyfriend. Unless they're twins. Which makes sense.
And then it's sixth year, and Derek is back. As a teacher. Also lycanthropy.

Summary
What started as a simple "fork in the road" AU became a series and ate my life.
JSYK, this is a Sterek series, but they are an asexual-but-romantic pairing in an open relationship. Derek is asexual; Stiles has a FWB arrangement with Erica (with Derek's okay) but Derek and Stiles are in a committed, romantic relationship.
