"Jesper sighed. He was very well aware of the fact that if he didn’t forget about picking a mandatory extra activity, he wouldn’t be stuck with having to attend theatre club. For some reason, it wasn’t as popular in Ketterdam High as other extra classes. If you were to ask Jesper, he would probably pick shooting or jewelry-making classes, but both courses were filled by the time he remembered about signing up for one."
or: jesper forgets to sign up for extra classes and ends signing up for the theatre club. he's not exactly thrilled, but somehow, the people he meet there seem like they're capable of changing his mind.

“Oh, well, hello there,” a smooth, baritone voice suddenly broke through the quiet atmosphere, and Wylan jumped, his skin prickling and his hand jutting on the page. A streak of yellow crossed over the paper, a mistake he wasn’t sure he could fix on the painting. He rounded on his feet, pushing up to stand and confront the newcomer.
“You new to town? I would’ve remembered seeing such a pretty face,” the man continued, perfectly-shaped lips forming into a smirk, pulling to one side and exposing a dimple in his cheek. Wylan flushed, sketchbook held close to his chest, but his palette of paints and his satchel were still by his feet.

But when their planned proposal to each other in front of the whole school has everyone thinking they're actually dating, the two struggle to convince everyone that they're not. Their solution? Jesper couldn’t help kissing one ruby red cheek, “I’ll be your muse whenever you need me, now shut up and be my muse.”

“Wy, what are you doing?” Jesper couldn’t help but chuckle a little at the view of his boyfriend, his wild red curls and the way he was crouched over in the dirt.
“Looking at this grasshopper,” Wylan’s voice was a bit distant, only half paying attention to Jesper’s words, far more focused on what apparently must be a grasshopper in his hands. Jesper came up behind him, a ringed hand brushing over his hair and carding through his curls. Wylan leaned back into his touch, not taking his eyes off of the grasshopper in his palms. It was one Jesper had seen all of the time growing up, just a normal grasshopper found all over the place here, in Novyi Zem. “It doesn’t look like the ones in the gardens at home.”

“Well, hello there, gorgeous,” the man said, leaning a hip against the wall they were standing by. Wylan could feel his cheeks reddening at the words, clearing his throat as the man continued. “What can I do for you?”
“Well,” Wylan started, fidgeting a bit with his fingers at his coat hem. His forehead was starting to get warm underneath his blue beanie and the press of his red hair underneath it, the white puffball on the top weighing down on him. “I couldn’t help but overhear you at the counter. I think we’re facing the same problem, you need to be in Ketterdam by tomorrow, yes?”
