With that, I laugh. “Yes, you do. You’ll stop at nothing to get what you want.” He shakes his head, turning it up to me again. He stares at me with those dark eyes, the same look he gave me when he found Mal and I in the Fjerdan borders, about to kill the stag.
“Everything I do is for both of us.”

Summary
A man rushes in the room quickly, shutting the door quietly and coming to my side. The man has bright blonde curls, beautiful blue eyes and a thick accent as he says my last name. My eyebrows knot in confusion as I look back and forth at the man and Dr. Alpine.
“Hollander?! Are you okay?” I can tell that the accent is Russian just from those words. The man holds eye contact with me, analyzing my current situation.
“Sorry.. who are you?”
The man’s expression is dropped in surprise. “Ilya..?” He says his name with disbelief. Was I supposed to know him? By the looks of it, I think so.

Shane loses most of his memory after he gets injured, but he realizes in time that things are not right.

At the end of Siege and Storm, Alina Starkov is captured at the Little Palace after she tries to kill the Darkling. She is alone among enemies, while her allies are scattered and her powers weakened by her battle with the Darkling. With her body and spirit beaten down, she finds comfort in the budding friendship with her jailer Natasha. With the newfound feelings she has to face an uncomfortable truth: there are good people fighting for the Darkling. How can she destroy him without destroying them?
This is my attempt to fix everything I disliked about Ruin and Rising, and also to give Alina some much needed female friendships (and sapphic feels).
