‘Jobe huffs, posture turning grouchy, and he looks off to the side, his big arms crossed. He's so lucky Michael finds him cute, the omega would've kicked him out with soap suds still on his hands otherwise. He gives him a slow once-over, catches how Jobe side-eyes him, probably still waiting for the older to encourage his behaviour, and clicks his tongue in annoyance.
"Take your pants off."
Jobe's head snaps to the other so fast his neck cricks. His eyes widen and the corner of his mouth twitches, Michael looks at him, dead serious.
"What?" Jobe asks dumbly, a little scandalised.
"Are you going to keep whining like a scorned pup, or are you going to let me eat you out?"’

Why does it bother him so much? Why does seeing his best friend with someone else make him feel so irritable, as if Michael was personally doing something to provoke him?
Jamal rubs a hand over his face, and thinks it must be jealousy. He is jealous of Michael because Michael seems to have everything figured out. He’s older, more experienced, and has his shit figured out. All of their friends are around Michael’s age, and Michael was the one who introduced Jamal to half of them in the first place. Jamal has spent years following him around, trying and failing to catch up.
Or: Moving in with his best friend for university was supposed to be nothing short of a dream. While it's perfect in almost every aspect, Jamal Musiala can't figure out why he gets so bothered every time Michael brings a girl home.

Summary
Michael was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and always had everything handed to him on a silver platter. He grew up as a spoiled rich kid and became a boss whom many would describe as heartless and a complete tyrant. After firing his fifth assistant in less than two months, salvation finally arrives for everyone on the 60th floor of The Shard: Jamal Musiala steps into the office wearing a cheap suit and thrift-store shoes.
Jamal only took the job out of pure desperation. A brilliant economics student, he accepted the internship for the experience and the weight it would add to his résumé. He expected his contract to pass quickly and smoothly, but instead, he became the only person Michael actually trusts. Jamal is the only employee who dares to challenge him, the only one capable of seeing beyond his facade.
With his thesis turned in and a prestigious job waiting for him, Jamal is ready to leave Michael and the chaos of his world behind.
Michael, however, has no intention of letting him go—even if it means crossing the professional boundaries he worked so hard to maintain.
