The countdown to Christmas is looking a bit different for Mike this year. With Louis’ sudden exit from the firm, Harvey throws himself into work and he’s not coping as well as he wants everyone to think. Mike knows he can help, he just isn’t sure how to make Harvey see that.
In other words, Harvey learns to ask for support and is reminded of what’s actually important.

Season 2 Episode 16 AU where Jessica doesn't wave an empty folder around and says a couple cool one-liners before Mike bares his throat and asks her how high to jump. Because he has more loyalty than that.

Summary
This is primarily a Harvey character study covering the day he hired Mike until after he leaves Harvey for Seattle. Harvey reminisces about shaping Mike into a carbon copy of himself and having the epiphany that he wasn’t successful. Then he realizes he's glad he wasn't. He thinks about how he had gone from being Mike’s mentor to so much more, and ultimately decides to do something about it. Rachel/Mike and Donna/Harvey plots don't exist here.

Summary
It takes just a little over a year for Harvey to quit his job in Seattle and move back to New York, and it takes another one for his and Donna’s marriage to end.
They separate on amicable terms and with the promise (and genuine intent) to remain friends, but they see each other less and less frequently with every month that passes, so after another year, they only call each other every now and then or exchange the occasional text message, but they’re still on amicable terms.
Harvey and Mike – not so much. They haven’t spoken to each other ever since Harvey left, ever since their massive fall-out over a case Harvey doesn’t even remember the details of. Because, in the end, the details hadn’t mattered all that much, not really. Because it never had been about those details. Because it never had been about the case to begin with.
OR: Seven years after Harvey and Mike stopped being lovers, they're reunited again. All's well that ends well.
