Summary
But... he's not even a child anymore. He's fourteen, for Aeon's sake. Such a number isn't in the aforementioned age range.
...So why is he desperately craving for comfort? He shouldn't. He doesn't deserve it, after everything he caused. He failed everyone. His peers, the Xianzhou natives, the Cloud Knights, Jing Yuan himself—
Yanqing would berate himself until imperfection is unseen; should he let down anyone that has expectations of him. But the General? Who he sees as everything?
That, he sees as unpardonable.

Summary
Along the way to Windrise, he picked up the few Small Lamp Grass he saw. He wouldn't dare admit it aloud to anyone except his personal diary that those flowers remind him of... someone.
He admired that person, and wanted to be just like him in every way. Sometimes, Kaeya wonders, if he was only a bit more stronger, emotionally. If he never spoke a word about his true identity that night. Likely, the relationship between the both wouldn't be so awkward. Painfully so.

“What's wrong with putting milk in it?!” Noctis protested, having an immense urge to pull his hair out.
“There's nothing wrong with it, just your taste buds.” the advisor sighed dissapointedly, shaking his head as if he got an F in English.
“Just what is the point of coffee if you sweeten it?!”
(or: a debate between espresso and latte.)

Summary
He wouldn't have found out if it wasn't for Prompto, being concerned about Ignis. Because apparently he hasn't been having enough sleep lately, or taking a few hours to rest. That man may be smart, but sometimes he needs to be reminded that he's human too.

Summary
Yanqing does not fear death.
Such a fact is a perfect trait for a Cloud Knight, especially as the Lieutenant. To protect the people, to protect the General—one such as he should face the end with his head held high. That is the oath and duty he took up on his first day.
Yanqing does not fear death.
Such a fact is a terrible trait for a child, especially the one Jing Yuan raised. He has never been heavyhanded in training him—never held him back too much and never let him stray too far. The days he watched the boy chase small birds and play with toy swords were still fresh in his memories.
Yanqing does fear death.
But his fear of disappointing the General runs deeper. It goes further than any force that could release him from the mortal coil. No weapon cuts deeper than his father’s gold eyes turning away from him in shame.
Honor, devotion, gratitude—courage will kill him, Jing Yuan realizes.

Summary
“General, there's… been an incident.”
“Lady Fu,” he says curtly, “if something has happened to Yanqing, I'd appreciate it if you simply got to the point. Is he hurt? Where is he?”
Fu Xuan grimaces. “Well, he's not… hurt, per se.”
Turning to the Cloud Knights at her back, she makes a gesture, and one steps forth with a small, blue bundle held in their arms. He is not quite sure as to what it is supposed to be at first, his eyebrows knitting together as he stares the Cloud Knight down. Then, they shift their hold, turning the bundle out to him, and...
The face of a child—no, a baby peers out from between the folds of the thick, blue blanket.
Jing Yuan blinks slowly.
Yanqing's honey gold eyes blink back.
Or; Yanqing gets de-aged. Everyone is horrified… except for Jing Yuan.
