Natalie Scatorccio had never been one for luck. Born in '03, she barely got two months in the normal world before everything went to shit. Cordyceps, it's what they called it, she didn't know much about it, never been too keen on studying that sort of stuff. She just knew it fucked with your brain and made you a murderous zombie. She knew enough to stay behind the walls.
Shauna Shipman was the opposite of her best friend, her first memory was from the normal world, when she was 1 year-old. She hadn't properly lived in it, only a taste, a memory that she didn't quite know if she made up or not. She was interested in the fungus, in it's history, in things they hadn't taught her in FEDRA school before she dropped out. She didn't want anything to do with those guys anymore.
Both of the girls had never come across an infected, at least not until they made the decision to set off on a journey. A group of four young adults, one destination, and barely no infected-killing training. What could go wrong?-

Summary
Natalie never expected to die a hero. She expected to die alone, coked out in the back of some shitty van, a victim to herself and her fucking impulses. Or, she expected to die in fear, victim to a hunt or a sacrifice to some stupid Wilderness God she doesn’t believe in. So, in some ways, maybe this is a plus:
Yay me, I guess. At least they can put ‘she tried’ on my gravestone.
But this doesn’t feel like a victory. All it feels like is cold. A cold, lonely death, buried in the snow and completely, entirely alone. A useless death. A death that no one will remember.
This is how she dies - not with a bang, but with a whimper.
And then she wakes up.
OR: Natalie never makes it to the mountain. A sudden blizzard claims her first. But when she opens her eyes, she's back to the day of the crash. This time, she’s determined to keep everyone alive - even if The Wilderness has other plans.

And Jackie didn’t know what to say. Yeah, she was possesive, she was controling, but it was because she didn’t want to loose Shauna, she didn’t want anyone to take her away from her. She could’t describe in words, not to Shauna. Honestly, there were no words that could describe how Jackie felt about her. She felt an impulse, she just didn’t see any other option. She knew this would probably make things worse, but right now, she didn’t care.
So she rushed foreward. She came as close to Shauna as she could and their bodies intertwined, just like their souls did years ago. She grabbed Shauna’s face and harshly put their lips together, like that could just show Shauna how intense she makes Jackie feels.

Jackie Taylor gave up on herself. But It didn't want her to leave. Not yet. So that night she got dragged back to cabin and she made it out alive. Now she and other Yellowjackets have to deal with the consequences of that.

It was a bad dream. He’d been up late, thinking about Nationals. His mind, admittedly, had drifted to the dynamics between his players. He liked to think of himself as above high school drama, but even he’d noticed the tension between even the closest members of the Yellowjackets. It made sense, then, that his mind had conjured up wild imaginings of cannibalism and hysteria. Sometimes it really did feel like these girls were one plane crash away from tearing each other apart. But in this moment, as he turned to survey the plane, they seemed so earnest, chattering amongst each other like they were real friends.
He couldn’t help it. His eyes drifted to Lottie, still unnerved from their earlier interaction. Her window had fogged up, and he watched her draw on it with her fingertip. She paused, hesitant, staring at her work. Ben craned his head to see more clearly what she was drawing as she nodded to herself, pressing her shaking finger to her seat window to strike a line through the triangle at the bottom of the symbol as the plane gave out.
An AU where Coach Scott wakes up after Season 3 back on that fuckass plane and tries (mostly unsuccessfully) to save these insane teenage girls from each other.
