Summary
Hermione’s heart was pounding in her chest, making her feel as if it was going to break free from her body. At least she wouldn’t have to accomplish what she was about to subject herself to, she thought, a somber laugh leaving her lips. She knew it was dangerous when she exposed the idea to the Order of the Phoenix, but it was the best way to try and learn more about their enemies. As the saying goes, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”. She couldn’t help but hammer this phrase into her mind like a mantra. She was preparing to attend a ball at Malfoy’s Manor after all.

I recently discovered this book and tried an exercise in a writing group. I wanted to share what I came up with, even if it is still rough.
Feel free to participate as well, I was quite perplex at first but the more you write the easier it gets!

“No,” he cuts his Uncle off as he watches her walk back into the fighter’s quarters, casually flipping a wave of brown hair over her shoulder.
He marvels a little at the length- there’s an impracticality to it that’s strange for pit fighters- not to mention this heat.
She doesn’t bother waving to her fans.
She has no need- they’re hooked.
As he takes another look around at the signs they’ve made for her- fans still screaming and crying for her recognition- he realizes with dawning horror that they haven’t used dyed ink at all.
It’s blood that they’ve used to paint on their signs- an homage to her and her twisted gift.“I want her real name.”
