Summary
Mike has spent twenty years preparing for a future he never chose. As a promising young knight-in-training, he spends his days learning how to serve a kingdom he has never wanted to belong to.
One afternoon, he’s nearly killed in the forest. A stranger saves him, a Cleric who can’t speak, fragile-looking and frightened, with magic that Mike has been taught should no longer exist.
He goes back to the forest looking for the young man who saved his life, expecting answers and finding something far more complicated instead.
Somewhere along the way, Mike learns to listen to what isn’t said, earns a trust neither of them gives easily, and discovers a life beyond the one chosen for him. Mike never imagined that Will would show him a life worth choosing, and become someone he would risk everything to protect.

Summary
Sometimes, all it takes is one late-night conversation.
A conversation about bad dates somehow leads to Mike tracing the constellation of moles scattered across Will’s skin. It turns into a harmless challenge when he closes his eyes and finds every spot in the dark.

Mike is waiting for Will in the basement, a look of suspicious, nervous excitement on his face. He cleared the table and laid out upon it are two card games.
"Now, I know you’ll resist," Mike blurts out, stepping toward him. "But I think this will be good. For both of us! For when we... you know,” Mike trails off, “When we get partners.”
Will scoffs, stepping closer to inspect the titles.
Spill or Sip and Truth, Dare, or Strip.
Or: Mike suggests a spicy card game to help Will loosen up before college. It works a little too well, and suddenly they’re gambling with unresolved feelings, and clothes, that were meant to stay in place.

A polaroid lies face down, stark white against the carpet. Will crouches, breath already unsteady, and turns it over. His breath caught in his throat as the image came into focus, sending a jolt straight through him. Mike's jeans strained visibly against the thick bulge at his crotch, the denim stretched taut over an unmistakable erection.

Summary
