Summary
Rogue Trader Lavinia von Valancius finally gets to have her well-earned Magnae Accessio, only to be interrupted by an evasive warning from Heinrix. It's not as bad as expected but she takes a hit to morale that he must course-correct while avoiding the temptation to take advantage of the moment.

Then he realized: she was wielding him as a threat. The little theater of demanding more dances was to show her command over him.
"Ah," he sighed as they melted into a more polite distance. "I see your foresight has outpaced my investigation already."
She laughed. "I understand you're used to being arm candy alone, van Calox, with that lovely smile you hide from us. But no other Rogue Trader has their own personal Interrogator at hand so I would be a fool not to flaunt you. If you are to spy on me, at least be useful."
Heinrix opened his mouth to object but found it was getting harder and harder to refute the accusation. He grimaced as a sour taste entered the back of his throat.
"But don't think this is strictly political," she said as he drew her to his ear for the close step. "Your company would've been enough."
