The cravings have gotten so intense ever since Shadow Milk started hanging around more often. It's just as bad as it had been when he was with White Lily at the Academy, if not worse. Obviously he couldn’t act on these desires. So he dealt with it the only way he knew how, he ignored the hell out of it.
Sure, sometimes the mere idea of holding his bluebird close, and pulling aside that frilly little collar kept him up at night. Sure, sometimes he snuck off to the castle's hospital wing and snagged one or two teeny tiny little bags of donated blood, but it was fine. Until it wasn't fine.
Obviously he hadn't ever intended for the object of his desires to find out.Or
Pure Vanilla, a vampire, has starved himself for centuries, living only off of what was strictly necessary. It's difficult, but he's gotten extremely good at controlling his urges. Until a certain blue jester shows up in the vanilla castle, casually flaunting his bare neck, and unintentionally driving the poor vampire up the wall with hunger. Pure Vanilla's secret is not a secret for very much longer.

A grin breaks across his face as he spots Shadow Milk lounging on the couch. His boyfriend has a warm knitted blanket on top of him, typing on his laptop. Pure Vanilla notes a steady blaze in the fireplace and two matching mugs of chamomile tea resting on the coffee table, much to his glee.

Summary
Wandering throughout the Spire, Truthless shudders restlessly. His wings are itchy, ruffling around as he stalks through forbidden halls. He can't help himself when he finds it. A beautiful ivory fabric with golden embroidered eyes that gleamed—he needs it. So, despite the punishment that would surely await his thieving hands, he takes the linen. It makes a lovely centerpiece for his bed, along with the other pillows and blankets and Shadow Milk plush.
His heat had taken him by surprise, a logical explanation to the growing throb in his chest. But it doesn't make sense—he'd planned his trip to beast yeast around his mating cycle, and the cold of the Spire did nothing to help his instincts. So why? Why was this happening to him?
Shadow Milk finds Truthless in this state, curled into a nest of blankets. Instead of leaving—of running—he finds himself staying. Preening Recluse's neglected wings comes easy; he'd had plenty of practice helping Eternal Sugar with her own pair, before their corruption and eventual imprisonment. It's a simple task, brushing out dust and pulling off broken feathers.
But Truthless won't be content with just preening for long.

"I know you," Shadow Milk jeered, hands in his pockets as he leaned forward. His mouth was the one barely out of reach now, breath ghosting along Pure Vanilla's cheek and making his breathing stop. "Every time you touch my shoulder, grab me by the hand, flick my forehead when I push your delicate little sensibilities too far...it's always been so calculated and you expect me to believe that you didn't mean to do that to me?"
"I-if I made you uncomfortable, I'm truly sorry," Pure Vanilla breathed out, his entire spine stiff as a board.
"Oh, you did." Shadow Milk brought a hand up, flexing it to reform it to have a more claw-like appearance. Pure Vanilla could see the color of his hand shift from blue to a glistening black and he dared not to move.
"Nobody gets to tease me like that and get away with it."
